So I am running behind on about 41 other models, so I will hopefully get this one done... No promises.

Hey Klemzy! Remember, models are up for negotiation as well. Gandalf with a Santa hat, for instance.

Of course Cave Dragon, I would be very into something like this. It's just, I can't really find much time to paint lately. Having a small child takes a lot of time. It's well spent time, of course. But you know, man must sleep as well :D

I am so close to being done. Christmas is hectic! So hard to find time to chill! But I have worked hard on this and will get it finished!

Well I JUST managed to get them finished in time!

I found the semi-frozen stream pretty tricky as it was my first attempt at using water effects, the snow was really fun to use though and It was great seeing the diorama transform into winter. I hope to use water effects and snow again soon.

Wonderful! It looks absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, I have been sick since the 23rd(yay me!), and have not gotten mine done. Please accept my apologies.

I do have one question: How did you get the snow so powdery? It is too small to be styrofoam like my initial guess...

Haha it's several layers of some snow powder I bought on ebay. It's nothing like I thought it would be. Much more salty in texture. So I used a tiny sieve to spread it evenly and in about 3 layers so that it was thick!

You should make a snowy terrain piece, like a peak for Gandalf and the Balrog to battle on.

Goblin Town Crier - realized that I had been remiss in not stating what an excellent job you did on your diorama. Very well done!

Those hats... Are nice. How did you make them? I just remembered they are not on the original model, but they look so natural.

Haha Thanks! It was fun but challenging to make.
The wooly hats were made of greenstuff pulled into a cone and smooshed over their heads till I was happy with the shape, the rim was created by pushing a crease into it. Whilst it was still soft I stippled it with a stiff brush to get some texture.
