1-Can the person to trolling the mount heroic strike up the fight value of a combat it's involved in?

2-

Well I forget but I'm sure I'll remember more later.

I'm pretty sure he is asking if the person controlling the Mumak is able to heroic strike and raise the fight value of the mount. Or something close to that. I don't actually know the answer either.

Yeah.

I buy a tribe master. Or the Chieftan is the guy 'driving' the mount.

Elephants fight value is four.

Can the driver heroic strike that fight value up.

Yes, as its his mount, rider+mount=single model.

Here's another question.

Since the whole mumak is one model how does a banner affect him?

If say the back part of his base is within range of a banner or rule and the Driver himself is not, can he still use that banner or rule?

The rules for the mumak state that it can't benefit from a banner at all. So if the driver is not contributing attacks, which I belief is the case, then banners should have no effect regardless of placement.

It seems that I was remembering older rules when I answered before. Upon inspection of the current set anew it is only the Mumak's own banner effect which is forbid it, rather than all banners at large. I was unable to find anything pertaining to the effects of special rules on the thing so it would seem that, in the absents of restrictions, you are free to have it take effect of whatever you like. But remember that non of the crew take part in the fights, even when driving.

I was just wondering specifically about having a taskmaster within range of the Chieftan. Free heroic moves and such.

Well if that's the case then you'd have to get the Taskmaster up into the Howda with ropes or something so he could be in range of the driver or beastmaster. Otherwise it won't do anything since all the models are separate from each other and the mumak can't take part in actions called by heroes other then his driver.

Sorry let me clarify.

If there is a taskmaster on the ground within 6" of the mumaks base, but not the Chieftan, can the Chieftan roll his 4,5,6 and still save might called by himself for HIS heroic action.

I.E. The mumak is considered one entity with its driver, but does that mean you can scurry a taskmaster behind the mumak for that might save?

The mumak and its crew are not considered one model. So no you could not have a taskmaster within range of the mumak's base and get rerolls for the driver.

The heroic strike and taskmaster combos seem two great ones I was not aware of despite of being a mumak user. Nice topic!

yeah dude I'm a huge advocate of taskmasters and they've been very nice to me. I've saved maybe 6-8 might in 700-850 pt games this year.
I used the mumk in my first small tournament ever at 450 points recently.
I faced two horde armies and another Elite Army.
The only reason the mumak ever really got injured was because of losing combats with that low fight value and also bow fire but you can't really prevent that unless you have the shadow Lord.

So my thoughts were basically how do I keep it so that I get the charge off all the time and also that I could save my guys might or have more might.

What a funny idea if you use the mumak at say......650 pts.
Shadow Lord. Task master, rappelling lines.
Run those guys up there at the beginning of the game so they have protection and you have magic all kinds of Might everything up there and you can't really be shot well.....hahahaha

There actually aren't any anymore. Repelling lines only let models in the howda leave it, which they are not otherwise able to do voluntarily while the mumak is alive. It used to be possible in the old version to climb up the repelling lines or to cross over to the howda if it was in contact with a building of similar height, live siege tower was the rule I think, but they don't seem to exist anymore. Strange, it seems like something that should be their but I guess it was sort of an exploit.
