The feeling was mutual ha. It was a sigh of relief when I saw your painted minis, I really pushed the weapon to the limit.

Not yet looked at Kings of War rules, I have Dragon Rampant so will have fun fitting these dwarves into that.

As soon as these new minis are done they'll be getting a game of Dragon Rampant :)

I was hoping to have some finished miniatures to show at this point however my long lived Snakebite Leather has finally met it's end :( so with a replacement on the way I just took another couple of quick WIP shots, though better quality this time.

Another rubbish phone photo update but at least it shows I'm making progress.

The Drakon Blades are now completed barring the flock on the bases which I'll get done at the weekend (and I'll do a proper photo for them):

Image

I've started work on the Dragon Guard now, which I think will look great and I'm going to pick up another eight at some stage to bulk these out:

Image

Finally a quick shot of the Gundabad army which Mally (Gandlaf) painted up for me, now with the bases and unit bases finished off by me. Again I'll get some better pictures of these come the weekend.

A great horde their Phil. After all your collecting I bet it's great to see them lined up ready for battle.

Thanks,

Still nothing 100% done but the Dragon Guard are all but there (just flocking to do) so here's a sneak peak:

I've also started on the first batch of spear dwarves, now awaiting their wash:

I'm hoping to have the second batch of spears done before the end of the week and then get them all flocked and take some final photos.

Impressive work Phil. I love these sculpts and how, they lend themselves to the paint. That may seem odd but you may get my drift, some figures just paint so damn well and these are one of them.

These miniatures sure do paint themselves, I never paint this quick usually.
I was hoping to have photos of the finished units today and though I did get some photos done at the weekend during one photo the backdrop fell on a group of spear men (dwarves?) and snapped 5 out of eight of them :( stopping me from taking the final photos and getting a full army shot. I spent this morning removing what is left of the spears and hope to get new ones in place asap at which point I'll get the last few photos done.

I've taken some more shots of my first batch which our in my blog post along with photos of the Orcs Mally painted for me and my first ever videos showing the full armies as they stand (they're very basic video's but do the job - I think).

Edit: Forgot the mention you can see bigger pictures on my blog (I linked to the wrong ones).

Brilliant stuff. Your paint jobs, basing and overall atmosphere really do wonders for the dwarves! Can wait to see what you work on next for LOTR.

Hopefully before the end of the year I can get the cavalry and some new characters released at Anvil.

Next year I plan on doing a fan SBG supplement for the Fallen Dwarves.

Can't wait to get a hold of the cavalry, any news on the Golems?
Also, though I don't play SBG, I do collect all the books and enjoy reading them so I'm looking forward to seeing how the fan supplement shapes up.
