I had painted some Warg riders in the past But I had no mounted models to lead them. So got some metal warg riders and some other models and converted some stuff up.

Mounted ringwraith. I got the model with out the sword arm so I use a spare arm from the fellbeast box set. Works really well some green stuff and done.

Gothmog mounted. I press molded the shield from a Orc Captain model and used them on a few different Mordor captains.
Image

Sharku model. I gave this guy a quite orange skin tone I still want to add a shield to this guy featuring the white hand of Saruman.
Image

A Orc captain. Made out of a Metal warg rider, grishnakh and a head swap. Grisnakh works quite well because he has the fur and bone on his back to start with. And he is quite big so looks like a ferocious captain.

Because Shamans on wargs are to expensive for me. I just used a regular shaman and a metal warg rider. so chopped them at the waist. This metal warg had a lot of detail at the back that I had to cover up with the cloak.
Image

Warg rider with a banner. I made the banner from some cheap $2 shop fabric and wire. Used an uruk-hai model and swapped a warg rider head on him. On the banner I have a lot of different symbols, white hand of saruman, red eye, black gate and some mordor script. Along with a Wargs head as the main image.

So for last years tournament I wanted to use some monsters, so I chose the two best ones in the game maybe?

First is my fell beast.

As to save money I decided to make my winged nastiness as customisable as possible. This was the first time I used magnets on a miniature too. I made the heads interchangeable as well as the rider and made the base detachable. :)

In hindsight I should have doubled the magnets it is still a bit weak. I plan to add a Metal Khamul to ride one as well to lead my Easterlings. Which will make the head heavier.

I decided to go for a different colour scheme because you know, black is boring. I gave the beast a green/blue tinge. Added a final wash of Nuln oil to give it a bit of a shine; like scales in real life.

Riders in detail

Image

Heads in detail. So there is a normal head and armored head. But where is the Horned head as we all know the horned Fell Beast is the best.
Image

Next Up is my Troll Cheiftain.

I made this guy out of Metal Mordor Troll and the plastic troll kit.

Yes that is a MEGA sword. If you could give a troll a two-handed weapon this would be one. :-D

Image

Lucky for you guys I did take some work in progress pics, I wish I took more especially around the head and sword.

Image

The sword was made from a nail filler, very inventive I know. I was trying to work out what to use for quite some time I my best idea before that was a Letter opener but I could not find any cheap ones that were the right size.

But a $2 nail file, cut the handle part off and green stuff done!

Image

The troll I gave blue skin and yelow scales because its different

The back Armour I just made from green stuff not as smooth as I would like but try crack through that plate! I just searched some Eye of Sauron images and painted those on the armor.

Image

Now to get onto the Dead warrior. This guy was fun to paint, I just used the Blood of the blood god paint GW has; works really great. And rolled little sausage green stuff to resemble his entrails. I hope it looks like he has been rended apart.

I love this base too, Probably the best one I have made (excluding the dead warrior) Used Polystyrene to get it raised up. Although I had to change the base so the troll would look like he is standing straight. The metal troll is leaning to one side and quite hunched over.

Love orc conversions. I still have plenty ahead myself on those. Paint colors are fantastic, the blue green is very effective to make them stand out.
