What should a troll banner do?

I've recently bought a converted troll with a large banner- it's a very cool model and we're hoping to include it in our next Battle of Pelenor Fields but we can't decide on what it should do.

I'd like it to be in the same points range as Halbarad/Gamling/Boromirs and ideally have it affect trolls in some way. Does anybody have any ideas?

My thoughts were banner for 6" plus any trolls in 6" also get to re-roll one To Wound dice..?

Why would you add something beyond a standard banner? They're quite powerful as is. There's only 3 unique banners in the whole SBG that add a secondary bonus.

My advice would be just pay 30 points for a standard banner rule with that troll

Plus, troll are too dumb to understand the real meaning of a banner. It may as well be a napkin, in their minds

I like the idea of a troll banner doing something separate and different, and I've had the same thought once or twice. How about -1 courage to enemies within 6"? Similar to the Ancient Evil rule, but obviously suitably weakened. Stacks nicely with the trolls' terror too.

I just thought it should have a bit more of an effect because it's literally three times the size of a regular banner, but maybe affecting trolls isn't the way to go with it.
I guess the -1 Courage would work and make the trolls better indirectly if that makes sense, but I isn't know if it would be too powerful with Nazgul giving the same effects too? But it's a simple idea and they're always the best..!

I just don't understand why the attempts to reinvent the wheel. All banners effect all allied models within range, it doesn't matter if a troll, orc etc holds it. So adding the points for just a plain banner works fine

Yeah I'm thinking that's what I'll do, make sense for a big banner to just be a big banner!

Why always make new rules?! What about playing the model as a normal Troll and being happy it looks cool

Im not a fan of house rules but everyone is taking the time to say "... a banner that effects this" or "... a banner that doesn't effect that" this isn't fury were talking about where its race specific. All banners effect everyone, so if I have an army of Dwarves, Elves and Men and my elf brings a banner my men and Dwarves are also effected, I needn't say "I'm adding a special rule where this banner may effect my men and Dwarves."

That's what I'm talking about, a troll wielding a banner is "house rule" in itself, but with the comments it doesn't look like people are understanding how banners work as the clarifications are redundant.

There's no need for me to put in my house ruled Theoden profile "When mounted, Theoden gains an extra attack and knock to the ground, if he charges an enemy infantry" this is already understood as all cavalry have this
