Hi all,

So after a break of around 7 years I'm back in the hobby thanks to the inspiration of this forum and the GBHL Podcast.

Sadly I've had to start completely afresh with no old paints, miniatures or tools. However it's refreshing in some ways not to have a huge backlog to work through.

I'm going for Isengard as a starting force, hoping that they will be the most forgiving to paint whilst a re-find my touch. I have around 200 points at the moment and have promised myself I won't buy anything else until these are finished!

Lurtz is nearly finished. I have a few bits to do to his base, and some last min touches. Plus teeth I think.

Whole army shot. 5 Beserkers partly done and 5 warriors sprayed and ready.

The picture quality isn't great, but I really wanted to get them up here. I will try and sort a better camera, but if anyone has tips for taking pics with an Iphone I would appreciate it!

I'm aiming to round this force off around 300pts. And then start on making a board and some terrain. Will post those + bat reps and such as this develops.

Cheers all.

Welcome back to the fold. Sorry, I'm rubbish at photography. Dorthonion has a bit of knowledge in this area or look at the tutorial on Massive Voodoo.

Thanks,

Will check out some of the photography stuff, would be nice to get some decent pics.

Only a very brief update on Lurtz, but the warriors have had a basecoat and the beserkers some more highlighting. I think this photo is a little better.

Thanks.

Planning my next steps at the moment with payday approaching.

At the moment I have a small 200 point list.

Lurtz
5 Warriors with Shield
6 Beserkers

It's fairly elite but I wanted to get the beserkers in.

Thinking of scouts potentially next, to add some numbers and bows.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks! I'm based in Plymouth, but potentially when I have some time off work.

Cheers. I have used a different technique on the armour on subsequent models. So hopefully that will darken and add more of a contrast, I think his metal looks a little too bright.

Just a small update to keep myself motivated.

Lurtz now has five warriors to keep him company. Still struggling with the photography, but light is poor at the moment!

And one of five berserkers I'm currently sat doing!
