I am not about to enter a discussion on women's roles
I think the idea of converting some Female Black Numenorean is cool.
One of my friends did some armoured females a while back. Reaper sells some of them.

Bones cheap enough to convert dozens.

My choice to convert

Bones is a plastic product at 1/10th the cost of fine cast. I would argue that it is far safer to use than fine cast. Wear a dust mask and wash your hands when you file or sand any kind of resin.

I agree with O.W. above.
Reaper has tons of fantasy women models. As I said, in Fantasy I can name many great female fighters. I am 2000% for women fighting in fantasy worlds, incase that was not clear, I was never against that part of it, just in Tolkiens works, he held to the Earth like male domination aspect. My GF is a 2nd degree Black Belt and instructor, trust me women can fight.

So I also love Reapers prices and bones are great white cheap plastic easy to work with models. So if you are going to convert more, there are many to choose from, including some awesome dark elf models that, with proper painting, would be any elf race in ME, with some cool armor.

Not too high jack a thread but I'll be adding some female miniatures to my Black Numenorean army (I already have the minis it's just case of painting them) as well. Not something I purpose went for but the new minis I have from them include both sexes.

What have I started lol

The point of making a female BN was because I feel other than Shelob and the Spider Queen there are no female heroes for the evil side, being mostly interested in Mordor myself it kind of felt harder to immerse myself into the game. I know apart from 3 characters (all being beasts) Tolkien never wrote about any female villains, so I came up with a female BN to lead my army in smaller point games, a little OC of mine that could fit within the canon somewhere (unlike a certain Hobbit character).

I have no plans to adding any more into my army as of yet but I will at some point when I come to remaking the character. But until then I have a scatha, some goblin mercs, a siege troll and a few orc OC's (some interesting ides I borrowed from Shadow of Mordor).

Great job! The head looks big, but not necessarily too big - as you point out, it could easily just be a rather large crown/helmet (which most of GW's Black Numenoreans are sporting anyways). I personally don't ink the arm looks disproportionately large, just covered in heavy robes. The leng of e arm and size of the hand, which is what counts, look fine to me.

Conceptually, I think she's fine. If anything, I'd say she's very much in line with Tolkien's portrayal of women. Yes, they are few and far between (that goes for Tolkien's mention of women in general, warriors or not), but those that are mentioned seem more often to be powerful leaders than just rank and file troops, so one powerful Black Numenorean heroine at the head of a warband seems just fine, to me.

Anyways, nice work! Looking forward to seeing her painted.

pfew, what a discussion came out here, regarding my reasons for not linking the concept : I simply dont like the idea of a black numenorean commander woman.

It has nothing to do with it being possible ( in fiction history ) or being in line with Tolkiens Ideas. None can say for sure. ALthough Eomer does voice some strong ideas with his : "War is the province of Men" (although that was more movie than book wasn't it ? :)

The reason I mentioned my dislike is because I realy like the conversion and find it very well executed, but would never think of doing it myself because it would not fit in my idea of a black numenorean army.
But that was not the main point , which is : CONVERSION WELL DONE!

First up we have my first attempt at a Gundabad Orc from an Uruk-hai. Turned out a bit Devlan Mud, though I know where I went wrong (no plasticard *cough*)

Next we have the 3 goblins I'm currently working on, the greenstuff hasn't hardened yet so I'm still working on the ears and the finer details on the armour. Wanted to do these with plasticard but I couldn't wait the few extra days until it arrives.

Hello,

nice ideas! You dont necessarily need plasticcard. After curing greenstuff can be cut, filed and sanded to give it more defintion and generally making it look more like a 'hard' material (sharp edges, straight surfaces etc)
Maybe you can try that afterwards ;)

Wow it's been a while hasn't it? Well I started painting my female BN (about damn time!, I'll take pics in a sec)

Annnnd I've started work on a catapult troll. Now before you judge know that its a very early WIP and that I'm taking a few artistic liberties (by adding armour etc).

Nice job on the conversion. He just needs some battle damage on the armour.

I'll get a pic beside a human character. It's a lot bigger than the plastic trolls that GW make, he's mounted on a 60mm base (and I think that's kinda small tbh)

The troll is from a collectors magazine that I got from ebay for about £10. Gonna order 5 more :P

Okay some progress on the troll.

Working on the catapult, added more plates to the armour. Still a lot more work to do. The goblin is just for scale, he'll be mounted on the trolls neck and will be the captain commanding the rest of the crew.

For your defense of the female black Numenorian, I would not that a few rulers of Numenor were actually in fact women. As for the goodness or evilness of them there was definitely corruption by Sauron in there.

Here is also a few pictures of a guy who makes some amazing models which include female dark elves for warhammer fantasy.
