Altough there is always a small temptation to vote for my own entry ( I know how easy/hard it was ) :)
I however did vote for a lovely painted gollum this month. The dragon was a lot of happily done work for me, but since he is big, it is easier to paint, while gollum being so small with limited colours is hard to do. So that one stood out for me, well done orc archer 8)
and well done to you all, There is no entry I find not well done. :

* Grima looks very good and like in the movies, and the dirt on his cloth is a nice detail

* The Haradrim looks excellent, and the black skin is a very nice change to the known look. the base is wonderfull, although I think it would be nicer if he stood more straight on it.

* The Castellan/ death walker, is well painted with good details that fit with your army Alatar. I only dislike the colours, the blue is to bright for me, but It goes well with your corsairs for sure!

* Love the carn dum soldier, an excellent way of making good use of those army of the dead ones. the colour scheme reminds me a bit of some of the RotWK colours from the game and they fit very well! He looks somewhat savage, but not like a ghos anymore, so well done !

* hmm I know that cave drake from somewhere....
he is well painted, looks much alike the photo of the front of the box, the green and whitish skin looks excellent. Only improvement that I could think of, is the colour of his eyes, I find the that the blue sets them well apart, but does not fit so well.. (my humble opinion) non the less, It quiete a bit of work with such a large one, good job !

* Khamul. He looks quite good, altough somehow, none of the photo's realy captures him in a way I can have a good look at the model.. could be just me. his cloth are well highlighted, the horse seems to miss this a bit ? but still looks good! and the base is nicely .. based :)

* ah old bolg before he got razors from dad. The colours look much movielike so well done mr grant ! For improvement I would think he would need some shading.. or darker colours. it could be the photo but it seems a bit to bright for me. ( I wont say I can do better, but I think some critisicm is always welcome for painters, who always will imrove and keep learning while painting like myself)

* woow that dragon, incredible!! ... who could do that ??

* old Lurtz. he is wonderfully done ! realy good colours, and discomforting eyes. I find his armour in particular to be looking very good, did you do anything special with it ? I would love to know!

* well gollum got my vote, why ? read the beginning of my post.

Incredible talent on display! One of the best challenges I've seen amazing work everyone. I've gone for Yorcshire's Lurtz just in a very tough vote.

Haradrim is the best for me, combining paint quality, idea, basing and photoshooting. Gratz to all!

Fantastic efforts by everyone, very high standards. I think the votes are going to be really close this month. After much deliberation it came down to Grima and Gollum for me. I love the stretched and translucent skin effect on Gollum. Grima just edged it though in my view.

Great post JR, I enjoyed reading your views. To answer your question on Lurtz's armour I don't think I did anything special and can't remember the exact formula but it was all done with Citadel paints. I started with Leadbelcher as a base coat followed by several coats of Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil in various consistencies until I was happy with the effect. Finally a very subtle highlight of Leadbelcher. I found differentiating between all the different dark cloth items the hardest but am pleased with the leathery effect I was aiming for.

while i have the greatest respect for Gollum, (having had several harrowing run-ins with him, involving copious paint mixes and then 3 dettol baths,) and the Grima is outstanding, my vote went to Lurtz. Beautifully painted eyes and armour. very high quality this month, some people are really improving.

Stunning folks, just stunning. And as usual I had trouble making up my mind because a few of them were so close to being the best I could see.

Excellent work. I voted for Yorcshire this month, based on improvement. Great skill for a (relevant) newbie.

Well, that was tough. I ended up voting for Dr. Grant's Bolg, the skin looks great, the armor looks great, and I thought the face was well done too. Overall I think it's a solid model. :yay:
Everyone else did a really good job too, I thought that the painting was generally all at the same level this time. I would've like to see some more interesting bases, but that's just me.

Thank you :) The last challenge I entered was the July one which I won, so I've technically won two in a row. December better watch out lol.

Good job orc-archer, you had me worried there at the end. You did an excellent job on Gollum's face, it was very well done.
