Hi Dave, that is truely a lovely miniature, full of charactre and exactly the way I imagined the dwarves from the book! Do you have a picture of the sculpt itself? IMO greens (or greys  ) look always even better than casts...

Any idea when these will be available, Dave? I'll be in the UK around the end of August, so I would save big on shipping...

Above images show Traveling Dwarf on the left, along with some simple Company dwarf torso swaps on the right.

Below is a mounted Radagast for the GBHL channel, which will go to Sausage Fingers for basing and painting.

Lastly is the recent Aranarth conversion done for Josh Pinder. Apologies for the pics as they were taken with my phone in a dimly lit room. . .

Hi,

very nice conversion again! I love the travelling dwarf! The other two are also great! The interchangeable arms are a very nice idea and expertetly executed :D Wow!

What bothers me with radagast are the many moldlines throughout the miniature (i.e. on his hat, on the horse's head and front legs)...I hope they will be removed before painting!

Cheers, Marc

"Everything is awesome..." :D

It's very good to see you back in business Dave, very nice return! The travelling dwarf still looks very nice and the conversions seem to be easy to do! Very usefull!
Radagast is nice, too, a very good repositioning of shadow fax, very dynamic! The bridle is very nicely done, good job!
Who is Aranath? Nevertheless I really want to have him, now! The separate arm is amazing, is it completely from scratch? The banner is a copy, isn't it? If not...

There is just one major critizism: To few updates! :-D

Best wishes,
Bennet

Yeah I have apologized to DMS and suggested that he clean up the mold lines before painting commences. I would normally have done that but in my haste to get it up to him before the tournament completely forgot.

Aranarth was the son of Arvedui. Yes the spear arm is completely scratch built. The banner arm is the original metal arm, with scratch built banner and chainmail added. Each arm has a magnet to connect to the shoulder.

Back in business? Nice return? I have not been out of business! I have however not been as frequent a poster on here as I would like. Lots going on at the moment both with sculpting/casting and real life issues I'm afraid.

Yeah, I know. But that's what I mean, back in the One Ring business... :D

The banner is scratch built? Awesome! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! I really like the heraldic and the worn out look, I think I have to reconsider what I call "sculpting skills"... :E

The son and heir to the late King Arvedui (the last King of Arnor during its fall) who became the first Dunedain Chieftain - an ancestor of Aragorn.

Quote:
http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Aranarth

Aranarth was born in TA 1938 to Arvedui and Fíriel. In his youth, the Witch-king of Angmar was at the height of its power and destroyed the Northern Kingdom, overrunning its capital city Fornost. Most of the surviving people, including Aranarth, fled to Lindon, but King Arvedui went north to the Ice-Bay of Forochel. Aranarth urged Círdan to send ships to rescue Arvedui, but this ship never returned. It was later learned that the ship had sunk with Arvedui on board as well as the Palantiri of the north.[3]

By right, this made Aranarth now King of Arnor, but since that was lost he could not claim the title. Aranarth rode with the army of Gondor under Eärnur and saw the destruction of Angmar. Aranarth's people became known as the Rangers of the North (or Dúnedain), and he was the first of their Chieftains who dwelt in the wilds of in Eriador. In time, their origins were generally forgotten by the common people of Arnor.[4]

While the Rangers defended Arnor from the remnants of Angmar's evil, the Wizard Gandalf went to Dol Guldur, and drove out Sauron the Necromancer. Thus began the period known as the Watchful Peace, a time where attacks by the enemy were few and far between. Aranarth's son Arahael was born in Rivendell, and was given a name with the Kingly prefix of Ar(a)-, to signify that by right he would be King of Arnor.

Arahael succeeded his father at his death in TA 2106.[2]

Almost finished painting him. When I get round to doing photos I'll post some here.

Great work Dave, loving Aranarth and his magnetised arm.

That's the thing about magnetic arms... there you are in the middle of a battle and every bit of ironmongery in sight sticks to you. Total chaos. Leaves everyone else involved trying to beat one another up with water balloons...

:)

Latest commission. Giving Fell Wargs their winter coats and dignity back. . . .

I actually prefer them this way rather than the bald look which never seemed right to me.

Great improvement indeed; the heads and poses are great, but the big bald patches look terrible - no matter how well they are painted.
If sold like this, I most certainly would have bought a bunch.

These look fantastic, as usual, but I really don't mind the patchy stock versions. I just imagine them to be matted and mangy from their time in the wild.
