I have to be brutally honest and say I did not know what to think of this article when I first read it.
I guess it is personal taste, but I would have gone with more colour variations. However, the end result is really not that bad and is only let down by the lack of 'Green Stuff' that is not used to re-model the gaps in the neck on the left handside.

You painted the model very well!!
I do have to agree with Rutta though...some green stuff to fill in the gaps would make this really great model even better. :)
Keep up the good work!! :D

Thanks for the comments guys :). The reason for there not being any Green Stuff in between the gaps was because I had none handy at the time. And it's a bit difficult to get it when living on an Island and then having to persuade your Dad to drive you to GW and then having to pay to catch the ferry and then to drive for 40 mins :P. But now I have plenty and I will use this constructive critisizm to improve my later works :).

The step-by-step photographs are exactly the sorts of things we are looking for in painting guides, and Nolofinwe gives us plenty! The end results are certainly unique and will provide a nice alternative style to the typical run-of-the-mill wargs.

All in all a great guide from a talented member. Nicely painted, nicely based (the tree stump is exquisite) and nicely put together. Well done.

Thanks Dagorlad :D. The base is for use in an Angmar army so I tried to acheive a spooky and dead look hence the weeds and tree stump.

I agree a great article, I will be painting my wargs using this method for sure, and the step by step photos for making the log are great and the result is fantastic! I'll bet it looks more real that the original log did :)

You're not limited to Green Stuff either - many modelling putties will work fine. Milliput is an excellent alternative (available in hobby and craft stores), as well as some less obvious brands - Selleys make a 2 part epoxy putty that you can get at Bunnings or other hardware stores.

Where do you live in Qld? Which island I mean? and do you have any spare beds - its darned cold down here in Adelaide right now!

I live on Coochiemudlo Island. It's freezing over here right now also so I've got all my winter stuff out. Sorry Dagorlad, no spare beds for you :P.

Very good step-by-step painting guide. Great job, I hope that there will be more articles from you in the future

Don't worry, there will be. I'm currently writing a guide on painting the Haradrim to a different approach. You can check in my gallery to see what I mean.

I cannot wait to see that guide, I'm sure it will be of the same excellent quality! :D

I am almost finished. All I need to do now is take pics with my friends Macro Camera and add a few more steps :D.

I know this article has been up for a while, but since the point of feedback is to help us all to improve (including my own feedback skills), I'd like to comment.

I found the overall article well thought out and executed. Extensive photos, and very straight forward instructions.

Most of the comments I see have already commented on the gaps, so no comment from me.

I would have enjoyed seeing a few alternate colour schemes; perhaps next time.

Thanks
