How different is The Ruin of Arnor
from Moria and Angmar

are they interchangeable? I have owned the game for some time though I have never played. I am interested in building an Angmar army.

Several years ago WD had an article detailing Angmar, it included

"men of Carn Dum" . I did not notice them in The Ruin of Arnor.
Are they still included as options to take?

Mostly the same, except that Moria & Angmar obviously includes more Evil units (Moria).

The rules for models mostly havn't changed I think, no changes to profiles and points. But some units were removed from the Angmar "list" in M&A. Wild Wargs were removed (now found in the Moria list), and Warg Riders were added.

What the Ruin of Arnor had that M&A does not have, are the narrative historical scenarios which form a mini-campaign of sorts.

I'd recommend getting both if you can. Whilst you need M&A for the most current and up to date rules (Warbands), it lacks the fluff, narrative scenarios and overall charm of RoA. M&A may seem a little bland in comparison.

No. That was a White Dwarf only unit, and not an official expansion to the game equivalent to a sourcebook - you could only use them with your opponents' consent.

A good stand in would be the armoured Dunlending Warriors from the Isengard list, converted and painted to suit an Angmar theme.

thanks for the info.

I'll take a look at the Isengard list. I liked the look of the Army of the Dead painted in an Angmar theme from that White Dwarf.
I have some Mordor Orcs that I am working on now, I'll move onto some other Angmar units when they are finished.

The Warlord Games Dark Age range has some nice alternatives non-GW wise.
