Yes, here it is, after 4 years of mini gaming, I am finally making a wargaming board. I went to my local Hela (that is the german home depot) and bought 2 wood panels to be my boards.

I glued some felt to the underside which I hope will protect my table, then I made a PVA + sand mix and slathered it onto the board.

Once I got the sand the way I liked it, I primed it. I forgot to take a picture of it primed so you will have to imagine a board painted white.

Once that dried I attacked it with my acrylics. A mix of brown and red to give it an iron rich earthy color. A few dry brushes later for high lights, the board is ready for flock and static grass!

This is great. I was just thinking about making a battle board.
So much cooler than setting up on the kitchen table with fake grass.
