I want to make a little LOTR Mahud raiding force, but there really aren't enough infantry poses in the GW line and they are too expensive for to buy more than a few anyway.  So, I've started working on a few conversions...

Looks good!

Have a look at these ones too that I found. I'm afraid you'll have to wade through the pages ut there are quite a few nice lotr conversions in there - particularly mahud.

I've never seen models that IMO were this good for alternates of the Mahud

The models are Perry Miniatures' plastic Sudanese. Since the Perry's sculpted them, they are a near perfect fit with LOTR. The shields come from Warlord's Zulus.

I wondered how that scarf would look painted up and it has ended up being a great addition to the figure.
Nice find, nice conversion, great job.

They look great. Glad to see another person who understands how their skin - tone should be. Apparently GW thinks everyone is Caucasian

A quick Witch-King conversion. Never like the over-sized flail from the movie...

I've been looking for figure to replace the GW Rohirrim plastic miniatures which are just to small for my tastes. I think I have found them with Musketeer miniatures. This is a Roman-British figure, but between those, the early Saxons and the Goth range, there are lots of appropriate figures.

A little chunky but not overly out of proportion. Good find.

It's an OK use for a Rohirrim Warrior. I think the shield design works the best.

Having acquired two versions of the GW LOTR 'Grishnak', I thought I'd try a little conversion:

I like the shield. It makes him look like he's from Cirith Ungol.

The baby finally slept long enough for me to get a couple of snaps of my recently painted warriors of Rohan based on Musketeer Miniatures. I've got to say, I'm really pleased with the quality of these miniatures and their suitability for Rohirrim!
