Sorry, it's not a good pic.

I'll take some more once I finish her warband.

One aspect you could definitely improve on is the base. I'm assuming you base things raw after painting with the GW sand stuff.

What I do is base them after assembly, before basecoating, and then after I paint the model I give a coat of paint to the base as well, typically simply a basecoat and then a drybrush with a highlight colour, followed by flocking.

This will add another dimension to your already awesome miniatures.

I don't use sand. It is railway model ballast which i give a brown wash for that dirty look.

Drybrush it- it'll make it pop. Nice painting!

I agree with the calls for a drybrushing on that base! I went back over all my Dwarves and drybrushed Codex Grey on top of the darker base colour. Made it look much better!

When I did my bases I based the model during assembly so it also got primed during the priming phase, then just painted it brown and a drybrush of bleached bone which looked good enough.

It's been a long time since I posted! I took the advice on board about my bases and have changed to a more earthy approach. I think it looks better. Now to take some pics..

If like me you are looking for shields for those models that have the option on the profile but don't actually have one.

And also for June 2 wood elves and a galadrim

This was to test colours

One wood elf is from mirkwood the other serves the Lady of the wood, hence the white.

I included a Rivendel elf to compare.

I think they individual enough to show they are from separate warbands but have an overall look that will hold them together as an allied army.
