Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go!

Glorfindel himself is now more or less finfished, apart from his hair. I'm not sure how I should paint it though. Any suggestions on Glorfindel's Golden hair? 8)

And I know, faces are not my best quality, but I think it turned out decent, and I'm happy with it..

The cloak is a bit more blueish than on the pic.

I hope you like it!

I wouldn't say faces aren't your best quality, I think his face is very good. As for the hair how about snakebite leather and adding sunburst yellow to it for each additional highlight and add a tiny little bit of skull white for the final highlight. Not sure if sunburst would be too bright though, haven't got it to hand at the moment, was just an idea off the top of my head.

Thank you all very much for your comments!

I painted his hair and horse today. Thanks for the tip Red Corsairs, I painted his hair with Snakebite Leather up to golden Yellow mixed with a bit of Bleached Bone.

the horse was hard, but I think it looks ok now.

I don't have my camera here at the moment, so I'll likely post some pics tomorrow.

Ok so here are the promised pics. :)

The only things I have to do now are the details on the horse and the base. The competition is this saturday so I think I'll have it finished in time! :-D

looks interesting.

I really like the colour scheme. 8)

But both the inner part of his cloak and the horse could use an light grey wash.
And maybe an wash with bestial brown for his hair?

Oh and don't forget to touch up his feet+greaves.

I also suggest to use some wash, this modell is not ready yet. The colours are fine. I use an army painter product called quick shade. Try it. Or you can mix a wash by yourself.

Yep, a wash will create some nice shades. The hair turned out great. Well done.

Nice work Meneldil, considering how difficult it is to paint white (especially white horses) I think you've done a great job.

Hello people, and a late happy new year to you all!
After a long break (about two years!), I have recently regained interest in the hobby. After spending last week painting a few things here and there, I noticed that I don't even own a decently painted Fellowship. I decided to pick up a box and make a new fresh start.

So, here is the first member I painted up, Pippin:

The others will follow!

Welcome back.
Some nice detailing around the eye. Are you thinning your paints as they seem a Lillie thick ?

Hey Gandlaf, thanks. I usually thin down my paints, though not always and I can see what you mean in some area's. I will keep it in mind, thanks for your reaction.

As Gandlaf said some great work on the eyes there, I never have the courage to attempt the little blighters.

Thanks a lot all!

I have Merry almost done, now seeing the pics I notice I have to touch up a few things here and there.

I will try to show some better pictures later once it's completely finished. I'm starting on Frodo now.

Great painting - the photos are very clear and to be fair, I am seeing the mini on my screen at about 35 times actual size so any teeny-wweny bits that need addressing show up. You have done very well on these - picking out tiny features like the eyes and buttons, and the basing is very good too.
Great to see you back in business!
