It's been a while since the last update, I know. A while back I was working on the scenery, but got tired of drybrushing the planks :) so I got sidetracked on another project. Since that's finished now, I am continuing with the dwarves... not for long I am afraid since I'm waiting for some miniatures to arrive in the mail as a commission job.

Here's the progress on Gloin and Kili. I tried to stay close to the official paint scheme, but with some more saturated colors.

Fantastic painting, extremely smooth, and great tutorial videos too! Lots of good advice here! :yay: I pretty much only use highlights, but shading with very thin paints seems to be working very well too, I should work more with that.

Also, I personally always thin my paint with alcohol. Have you experimented with this too? I really like it, because you can make the paint thinner than normal, without it spreading out so much. I'm guessing it will work well with the wet pallet too.

Hello everyone. First of all best wishes for 2014, happy painting and a lot of gaming pleasure.

I am still working on my Hobbit figures, on and off, and even played the first two scenarios :) With only a handful of miniatures to paint the end is slowly coming in sight. There will be a big photography session of the entire painted box set, for now some quick snaps straight from the painting desk.

I'd also like to say that I'm currently editing a painting tutorial video for Gandalf, which I will of course post here.

No, they are part of the set, they're an objective used in some scenarios.
