Yeah. I had some trouble with my computer, and despite doing some painting and converting during the last few months, I just couldn't find time to make new pictures. I will update the blog more often now :gandalf:

If you are interested, check my new battle report as well. The dwarfs did really great job in that battle! http://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25988&p=335756#p335756

I'm gonna eat you little fishy... :kitten:

This is really great miniature, much nicer than the Hobbit range Gollum I believe. I just pity I painted the fish green and not blue, as it looks little bit like a melon from a distance :)

Looking good, maybe the hair could have been painted thinner and less healthy, but that's a matter of taste i guess.

I like the green fish, doesn't look like a melon to me. ;) The highlighting looks very smooth.

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you don't think it looks like a melon :)

This time I post some Haradrim. I have already started painting Harad infantry with my girlfriend, and hope to finish this army soon. Well, in a few months probably. To achieve this, I have decided for pretty simple colour scheme - red and gold basically. This actually fits much better to Tolkien's canon than the PJ's movie vision.

Love the miniatures, they look so cool and they won their first battle this week as well :) As with the dwarfs, I did some conversions to achieve more variability in the army. Nothing complicated, just simple hand swapping and little bit of green stuff here and there.

The Watchers of Karna

The torch is from Warhammer Empire flagellants kit.

Half-trolls

Just some weapon conversions. These guys are some of my favourite Lotr miniatures at all. I have another couple of them still in blister and plan to convert it more radically.

Wow, very cool conversions! I've already windered several times how to convert the watchers from Karna, now I got some cool inspiration! Thank's buddy! Only the torch is a bit oversized in my opinion. I'm looking forward to seeing them painted!

Thanks, you are welcome to get some inspiration :) The watchers are already painted, but I need to buy some desert looking grass to finish the bases.

It is amazing to see how some simple but neatly executed conversions can add character as well as variety to even rank and file troops. Well done!

Very nice Watcher of Karna conversions! I'm due to get a warband or two of these guys myself, I may well end up coming back to this WiP for inspiration :P good job!

I have bought a set of nice looking tufts of grass few days ago, so the first 30 Haradrim are finished. The daylight is quite poor these days, and most of the pictures are not really great, especially the archers. Sorry about that!

Some spearmen in detail:

Excellent work on the fire- almost everybody starts with red and highlights to yellow and white. You've done it exactly the way it is in life, with the hottest parts of the fire (white and yellow) on the inside, and the cooler red on the outside. Nice bit of observation work there :D.

Very neatly painted and based - and the minis always seem to look even better when you see a bunch of them together.

Thanks for your comments. I forgot to give part of the credit to my girlfriend, as we painted these miniatures together :) She urges me to move to the hobbits of the Shire now, but I want to finish the Haradrim first :)

I always had a liking for the pose of the plastic Harad commander, but the eagle helm seems just silly to me (I am talking about his guy http://thereandblogagain.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aimg_1295.jpg). So I chopped it off and voilà - here goes my converted taskmaster instead :) The task was made from several bits from Warhammer empire flagellants, as the tasks in that set are too much 2D for my taste. The head goes from Warhammer empire greatswords set, and the skull standard on the back is from one very old Warhammer chaos hero.

Not really a nice guy, but I like him :)

Awesome conversion! :yay:
The Warhammer head and bits work surprisingly well, and I love the pose. Good work!

Nice! He looks extremely cruel, just like a taskmaster should be!
