Err guys... I'm 90% sure he meant 5 consecutive turns, not 5 in one turn.

oh dear..

No gothmog.. we definitely used it like 5 times in one turn! We always though magic was to strong in WOTR! I guess this makes it a lot less powerful.

I've been playing WOTR for over a year now and just by missing this one line in the rules manual we've been playing it wrong

mmm maybe that's why sauron destroyed my glorfindel in just one turn using magic..?

back on topic!

I think you should really use strength from corruption on formations you cut down to like one or two companies.. Yeah it gives them +2 S but it also gets D6 automatic hits! you could destroy a formation with a good roll

I don't think you could, actually. All 1-coy max formations are R2 IRC, and I hope no-one would take other formations in only a single coy. It is theoretically possible, of course. And yes, it is quite a handy trick.

I wouldn't worry about missing a single understated line in the massive WOTR book. I guarantee tomorrow night (our WOTR night) we will always have one hand on the rulebook.

Yeah I concur with Ellorindar.

I played WotR regularly for over 2 years, and pretty much knew the rules backwards. However, I sat down one evening and gave the Core Rules (Moving-Charging-Shooting-Fighting-Equipment-Heroes) a good read through.

I discovered that we had been playing charging very slightly wrong (Charging formation must actually attack as many companies of the formation it charges as it possibly can!) and the process for calling Heroic actions too (We were calling them all in one go, first the guy with priority then the other... actually both players need to state just the intent to call heroic actions at the start of a phase, then if both wish to they roll to see who goes first and that player calls first, and they alternate)

Anyway, my point is even if you think you have the rules down pat, it doesn't hurt to read them all through (and the FAQ), you may be surprised to discover a few interesting nuggets.
