Nothing unanticipated there. What I am wondering is how much of Hobbit 2 will be on the Dol Guldur/Necromancer thread? Looking forward to seeing the trailer anyway - I watched The Hobbit again at the weekend.

Well it's good to know the company at least reach the lonely mountain in another three hours of adventure!

The poster is amazing! I will get one of those ;) It's very atmospheric, like the LOTR film posters if not even more. As mentioned by Harfoot the dragon flames look very cool, but I also like the design of the dwarven gate and the snow outside ;)

CGI looks bad, same as the last trailer, but it looked good in the cinema. Looking forward to it.

Oooohh!! Fancy eh 8)

I must admit I loved the trailer, up until the point where Azog showed. Azog seemed a kinda pointless part to this movie that is a bit unnecessary...

Also the elves all seem to be 3000% ninja (Gliding about, shooting arrows in midair...)

I do really like the look of the elf warrior at 1:08 and I think they are going to be some seriously awesome models. I also like the idea of Legolas and Tauriel going off and keeping tabs on the dwarves (it seems to make sense that Thranduil would send someone to see them off after he discovered their escape from his palace).

Is it just me or do you think Smaug looks really really different than he was in the first movie?

All in all, I loved the trailer and I'm looking forward to the movie alot (possibly more than the first one).

I noticed that too. I was trying to see the Witch Kings tomb and Necromancers lair and other countless modeling details I almost did not notice the CGI on the Dragon.
I sure it will look better on the big screen. 8)

I don't think it is the final CGI

Smaug - enormous! The ruins of Dale looked great in that wide shot. I am looking forward to this next installment.

Enjoyed the trailer but noticed a few deviations from the book.

First of all was the Dwarves leaving in unsealed barrels and chased by elves. Also trying to keep the bear out at what must have been Beorns place.

Lots of deviations and added action. I was really eager to see the trailer after seeing the poster, but I'm not impressed. I think the mistakes from part one continue seamingless.

Is Orlando Bloom in a scene with black hair and a mustache???? it looks just like him.
Brilliant, can not wait.

I'm a bit worried about the overload of action in the next film. I thought it was a bit to much here and there in the first one. The thing I really loved about the fellowship is the journey they made.

Still I'd love to see it though!

I have been wondering how PJ was going to handle that scene. The book introduction would be to slow for the pace of the movie. I am afraid that is Beorn. We will see.

I also like Gunslingers comment about the bunnies/Elves 8)
Was that a magazine fed barrel launcher?
I am just happy the film was made. 8)

I am happy to, trailer looks good, the elves look good.
I am wondering when the next Hobbit
production blog is going to start.
(I thought reading something about that...)

Action scenes seem smooth from what there is to see, but I agree the trailer looks good. Smaug will be devastating in full flow, which knowing PJ will be a sight to behold.
