Hey Pete, if this gets off the ground, can I suggest ...
The 'Bilbo of the White Tower' award

Possibly rename the 'conversion' catagory to this name in honour of Dave.

A lovely idea Brian, one that should definitely be implemented in memory of Dave.

Great to hear from you Brian 8)

As you can see - great minds think alike ...

3) Best Sculpting / Conversion Piece - in memory of 'David Terian'
Note : subject to family approval

Provided we can get family approval I think your idea is good to go

I've almost got the rules for the One Ring Awards ready for a bold crowd sourcing experiment.

I've been working on the old base, Potenza, Nyg, myself and others, taking some bits from Red C and DMS for the challenges and mixing then up in a goblin cooking pot.

I hope to post up these revised rules to the Community for their comments.

Watch this space :-)

Azog - I know the forum tends to try to remain neutral, but given the good friendship I've developed with everyone on here - would you consider some sort of sponsor deal for the awards? I.E I'll gladly donate a prize (say, a new release and a white dwarf or something) in return for having a short logo or similar. If you're interested we can iron out the details via PM. Could even do a prize each category type thing.

Failing that no worries, I am still really looking forward to this. There are some talented members on here that (in my opinion) deserve recognition :)

Hi greendragon.
Thanx for the offer of a sponsorship, however we have always run the awards via prizes we have paid for ourselves or from the very kind donations from members, whether it be through a cash donation or simple supplying miniatures or supplies.

I hope you will agree that The One Ring is a nice looking site, and if so, I hope you can imagine how it would look with advertising banners all over the place. Yes, you said a small discreet logo, however I am sure you can understand that if we agree to one sponsorship, why not all who offer...and that would lead to a very messy looking site.

Thanks again for the offer, if you would like to make any kind of donation, please feel free to contact us.

No worries at all :) I might see what I can do for one of the categories
