Just going back to the fellowship rules, warbands aren't allowed more than 1 hero per warband - but are we making a special exception this one if somebody wants to do 8 fellowship members or does it have to be a proper warband? Just lining up my options, I have quite alot that needs painting!

It doesn't have to be a "proper" warband at all - if you wished you could paint up 8 hero models and submit them. I don't want to get bogged down with rules too much after all the challenge is a bit of fun. If someone wants to paint the 9 fellowship models then go for it. The idea behind the warband challenge is to paint a minimum of 8 models (i was thinking of enough to fill a movement tray)

Lets not overthink it by thinking too much about what a gaming warband should consist of - after all this is a painting challenge not a gaming challenge.

Oh and the fellowship can be a warband by itself (of course i knew that lol) Cheers SD

I didn't know that, thanks SD lol - But yes I was looking at all sorts of models that I want to paint up, Saruman and Lurtz etc... just narrowing it down, I'll wait until the official announcement tomorrow before I submit my entry but I'll make sure I have at least 6 standard troops of whatever I choose :) Can't wait to take part in my first painting challenge!

I really wanted to make this my first challenge but I will have to miss. I can't guarantee doing eight this month with a family, full time job, homebrew, good standard golfer, it leaves little time for me to do all the painting that was required.

Apart from the golf i know the feeling. Won't hurt to gve the challenge a go, you might surprise yourself and get them done. No pressure just a bit of fun. go on you know you want to.....

I've just made a start on my Cave Drake. One for my wife. I have all the fellowship to do but I'm keeping them for a Moria diorama so I could never base them. I have the odd one in different poses, hence I was hoping for the Fellowship.
I will have to check what I have as I do have hundreds in my back log, the majority are Uruk Hai I collected for a huge Helms Deep display.

That is me a lot of months (except the golf because there is 18" of snow outside). I thought I would get in on Monsters last month and I made it as far as primed and 2 colors of the base coat....

I have new and wonderful plan for this months comp (hint: Mayan warrior themed goblins), but I'm not ready to throw my hat in the ring yet... I have to wait that out until I have a better idea of my schedule.

If only idea's were action, then I'd really get things taken care of.
