HvM W.I.P. // GUNDABAD ORCS

Hi folks,

i'm working out a own colour sheme for my new grim hammers. The idea here is a silver armour and orange-brown clothing to get a higher contrast. I'm also thinking about painting some armour parts in bronze. But that could be too similar to the brown clothing.

so what do you think? any idea?

Wow, I don't know what to say.. They look FANTASTIC. The bases really finish the model and the painting looks amazing. The colours look really well, so I'd paint them all like this.

Ah, I saw a similar colour scheme at the back of this months White Dwarf, although they went for a slightly brighter red. Yours look great, and the bases are good too, although i notice you do not use the GW ones?

Welcome to the forum. I hope that we will see many more of your work in the future. The orange cloth creates a very pleasant contrast. I think your version is better than GW's. I would not change a thing.

Wow, just wow. Those guys are superb. The metal is very well done, but the orangey-brown, that colour is so perfect, and so well done. Keep them like this, they are awesome. The basing is also really good. I looked at your other stuff on your blog, and you have painted a lot of nice figures.

Two questions about these guys though, why are they not on GW bases? And, are you planning on painting their face? Right now it looks like they're still black...

I doubt he will paint faces, because those guys are wearing so called "mask-helmets". (Unfortunately there's only a german wikipedia entry for those, but you will get the idea: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maskenhelm)

Ah, so they're wearing a amsk under the helmets. I guess technically you could paint the eyes or a bit of skin in the eye slit areas, but they're so small that it's probably better to keep it dark.

1. I use normal slim metallic washers from hardware stores. I think they look much better than the high GW platforms. Furthermore you think you holding metal minis in your hands because of the heavier metallic washers.

2. As Rognarr said they are wearin some mask helmets so you can only see their mouth and eyes.

These look great, I'm tempted to use this idea, but with all the fall themed elves I've been painting lately I'm going to stick with the black
