I have not yet converted anything, but this week I have off between semesters so I am going to start painting for the first time, and maybe some converting/sculpting with green stuff.

Anyway, I already have Damrod from the Faramir + Ranger set and I recently bought a lot of Dunedain from eBay, and Damrod was included. So now I am going to have 2. I could sell/trade it but I'd rather keep it and use it.

So does anyone have any idea of what I could convert Damrod to? I play Minas Tirith and Mordor, but I am planning to create a Arnor army eventually with converted WoMT as well as the Dunedain I bought. I was thinking that I should convert Damrod to an Arnor hero or something, but I don't know what or if thats possible.

Any ideas?

You could turn him into a Ranger of the North pretty easily... There aren't many named Heroes of Arnor except for Malbeth the Seer and the King (whose name eludes me), but for a first conversion I think turning Damrod into a member of the Grey Company would be a good project :)

I agree with matt... RoTN sounds good 8)

Perhaps you could add some chain mail and give him a hood to differentiate him a bit?

Yeah that would be a fairly easy, yet effective conversion. If you wanted something rather more challenging you could try and turn him into an Arathorn instead (the pose is basically identical)...

Thanks for the suggestions!

RotN may be a good one to do, but I think I want to do Arathorn so I have a named hero once I convert a Arnor army

His armour style would be good for a WotR Ranger Captain, or for a Duinhir proxy with the right painjob, or as Derufin or Duilin.

If you're serious about converting him to Arathorn, I suggest the following:

1 - use greenstuff to give Damrod a longish beard (use an image of the Arathorn mini for reference)
2 - use greenstuff and model a overcoat und the cloak, similar to the green one that Strider-Aragorn wears in the Weathertop/Fellowship/Heroes of the West/Mines of Moria figure.
3- cover the leather flap of armour that covers D's legs with greenstuff and make it look like chainmail

That should be it! The original Arathorn fig doesn't have a bow in hand but his profile has one already counted, so it's worth leaving it there :)

Will be interesting to see how this turns out! Make sure you document it :)

Yeah that could be another possibility if I ever wanted a Fiefdom army.

1. Ya that was the first thing I thought to do.

2. I'm a bit confused on what you mean here.

3. You don't think i should shave/file anything first?
