Hey guys!

I'd like to get some fell wargs... but lets be honest: the new warg models GW made aren't that great.
I thought about maybe buying a Fenrisian Wolfpack instead, they look way more detailed and more wolfish too! And they are even cheaper! I'd paint them in the darker direwolf/warg colour scheme though. What do you think?

As comparison:

I don't think there is that much of a difference, to be honest. The reason the Fenrisian thingies look better is because someone actually thought about their colour sheme.

The main difference, if i see that correctly is, that the Fenrisians have fur modeled over their complete body, while the wargs look rather bold on their sides and back. Thats why I dont really like them..

Just a note, but they're not actually cheaper. There's only five in a pack.

I actually like the semi-bald Wargs better, they're not supposed to look to much like wolves IMO.

Still, it's 19,50 € for five (3.90 p.p.) and 25 € for six wolves (4.17 p.p.).
Might be not such a big difference, but yeah.. ^^

This has been brought up in a number of other threads, and I may be wrong on this, but I believe someone actually tried mixing the two only to find that the Fenrisian Wolfs were quite a bit larger than the Fell Wargs. But again, I may be wrong on that.

KnightyKnight's right, there's a pic in another thread with a size comparison and the Fenrisian wolves are bigger than the wargs, however that's only a problem if you want to mix them. Personally I far prefer the Fenrisian wolves and, should I ever get some spare time and cash, I'll be replacing my old wargs with those models, I'm not taken by the new wargs at all.

Anyone know any other companies selling Wild Wolves/Warg alternatives? :)

Dark Sword sells ASOIAF Direwolves, I imagine you could use Ghost or Grey Wind. They are the only company I know which is actually more expensive then GW, though (even though the detail is mind-blowingly excellent) which probably kind of defeats the purpose.

They are larger, to be sure, but I don't think they're too big. A Fenrisian Wolf looks like it could be a bigger specimen of the same species. I think it's within standard guidelines for variation within a species.

Its one of those things you can't really see untill its in hand. If you put an orc on him he would be about 50% taller then a SKoDA. I'm going to keep a few around for display purposes as Dire Wolves for my Stark fiefdom, but I think, and its my opinion it looks weird on the board.

Thank you RangerofTheNorth for the photo. Not the best perspective to compare size though ;)
But anyway.. i guess I'll sleep a few nights over it anyway before I decide which wargs or wolves I might buy.
Maybe someone has some painted fell wargs to show already?
