Hello,

I've been researching campaign systems to develop for Lord of the Rings SBG. I've found Middle Earth in Flames and The Battle for Middle Earth Campaign. Are there any other good campaigns? Is there a good historical campaign system that would work well for SBG? Thanks!

theres a historical campaign in the back of the war of the ring rule book! it lays out a basic framework and youd just have to modify the scenarios for sbg! keep us posted! :)

Thank you for the replies! Both of those campaign systems look pretty fun. I'm looking forward to when I get a campaign together at my local shop so that I can try these out. We do a massive game every December; I just want a system to get guys to play a little more. Here are the blog posts for the last couple of years if you are interested:

December 2011 Game Report: http://www.gajominis.com/blog/blog%2020 ... 12no1.html And more pictures: http://www.gajominis.com/blog/blog%2020 ... 12no2.html

December 2010 Terrain: http://www.gajominis.com/blog/blog%2020 ... 0no39.html And game report: http://www.gajominis.com/blog/blog%2020 ... 11no1.html
This game was run with a set of rules custom to my local games shop, Gajo Games, in Salt Lake City.

Thank you again for your recommendations, and I appreciate any more that you have.

Very nice terrain on the 2010 battle report, it must have taken been toilsome to the builder. How many players participated in the Battle of Pelennor fields? It looks like quite an endeavor to undertake.

I forget if we had 6 or 7 players playing for Pelennor fields. It was quite an endeavor. We're doing another Pelennor fields this December with even more massive armies. I dropped in the other day to find the shop's painter making a 3 foot tall tower for the white city this year. It should be epic!

Yes, the terrain took a while to make for the 2010 battle report. He took several years to collect all of those pieces, but they look really cool. I'm looking forward to the next time that they pull those pieces out. The shop owner says that he's waiting until he expands this next year to use that scenery again. Apparently, making middle earth inside the shop currently makes it almost impossible to walk around.
