Clash of the Wizards

Hi

I've been playing a couple of games of Games Workshop's Clash of the Wizards, a game which simulates the magic combat between Gandalf and Sauruman at Orthanc. It's a pretty basic set of rules, not to dissimilar to paper, stone, scissors

So I got to thinking it would make a great play-by-mail game as all the players would really need to do is send through the spells they wish to cast... So I'm looking for two volunteers to give it ago, all the turns and action will be documented on my website in the format here

Please PM me if you are interested and the first two will play each other.....

Can you double check that last move? If three push gets through my defense don't I move three hexes and end up hitting the wall for 3 damage?

Unfortunately I didn't get any interest from any other members so I enlisted the help of my Brother. A shame as it would have been cool for to members to "Fight it out." But anyway don't worry everything is played fair

Thanks for setting this up, I had a good time.

The tactics are weird. I'd be interested to know what your brother thought of it. I was pretty keen for a while to get to the Palantir, but it doesn't really accomplish much. I feel like full push and full crush are the strongest attacks on average (and about 2/3 of the attacks were one of those two), so revealing that you're not using one of the blended attacks isn't particularly valuable.

Still, there is a big random factor, you can never know what someone on the other side of a computer screen is going to do.
