During this weekend, there was an event in Budapest, called "HoldfényCon". It is very similar to the ComiCon, just it is 10 times smaller  There are comics, computer games, manga girls and everything what the geek society loves.
But now, there were the wargamers too, and there was a lotr table also, where everyone could see how intresting is the WOTR.
And the good news is there were several geeks, who were intreseted in the hobbi. My friend told me that there were almost 20 potentional guy, who really liked this game, and maybe they want to try it.

Think about it! Soon the Budapest lotr team will be twice bigger maybe. Now we have aprox. 12-13 player, but usually for a competition just 7-8 comes.

On the Budapest Games Day no one wanted to play, cause other skrimish games were more intresting for them. But at the HoldfényCon most of the geeks never saw wargame before.
My friends told me that they collected a lot of emails, so the new way of players are on the way. :frodo: :sam: :merry: :pippin:

Today there is another great event in Budapest, Tolkien's birthday celebration.
My friends went there to advertise our game. They leaded a painting school, where you can paint you mini and take it home. On the other table there is WOTR.
Good job. Im sure a lot of new player will come after this in the future. :yay:

Today we had a great competition with 6 players.
Armies: Gondor, Gondor, Mordor, Rohan, Elves, Isengard.
Point:1250. It is take a lot of time to move such a huge army, so we just played 2 games instead of 3.

Hello there, we won't have any huge tournament till September, but today I played two game.

First, 800 points, Mordor vs Gondor.

I was in very bad situation during the whole game. Boromir killed the Betrayer very soon. But at the last moment, the Knights attacked my troll instead of my orcs. I won that battle, so I stole the treasures. I had 3 treasures, and there were 2 free.

We also played a fast 500 points game. I destroyed two gondorian cavalries very fast, so I won that game also. Lucky me.

Does anyone still follow this topic? :D

By the way, today was the Hobbit anniversary here, so me and my fellows went to the Tolkien klub's event.

We introduced the hobbi, explained the rules, and let them play a little bit.
The game itself wasn't really regular, we didn't followed all the strict rules, we just showed some kind of demo.

There was a table also, where everyone should by a miniature, and paint it. Many people enjoyed the painting, many children.

Any my favorite, the Nazgul's sword!!!

Yes, I'm definitely following this topic! I don't play WOTR due to lack of other players, but I love to see such large-scale battles and terrain done so well.

Your poster designs are fantastic too. Are you a professional graphic designer or maybe a fine arts student?

Another follower here! Very nice miniatures, and seemingly the only group on the world that still plays WotR :(

Some great pictures and reports there, if only I lived just a little bit closer! :P That seemed like a great way to introduce new people to the game, so a big 'well done' to all who were involved. Definitely keep this thread going! I think I may have to start from the beginning and take a proper look at everything now ;)
