I need some help with color schemes for all of the various Fiefdoms. Dol Amroth is easy because of the GW pictures. But everything else is up in the air and really open to interpetation. So can anyone who has painted any of the fiefdom armies list the Army, figures ( what you used if GW doen't make them) and what color scheme you used to paint them. Pictures are alway appreciated. With all of the talent here, I am sure that there are some really excellent examples out there. Let's see them.

It depends what fiefdom you are painting. I was experimenting with interesting colours for a Gondorian army, and white and green can look nice. I have seen Gondorians painted anything from yellow to dark red. :boromir

There is no Colour for any of the other fiefdoms, which gives you the opportunity for all the conversions and paint schemes you can imagine. I also looked into doing some fiefdom troops a few years back and drew up a few ideas. But didn’t get around to anything in the end.
But here is what i did.

Bottom Left-Right: Dol Amroth, Lossarnach, Ringlo Vale

Hopefully this will give you a few ideas.

I like those.
One question, though: What would the shield for Lamedon look like? I know GW only gives them the option of 2Hw, but otherwise they're definitely Scots. They'd at least have shields as a symbol of heraldry in their keeps.

The best advice I can give is to look at medieval heraldry from scotland for some inspiration.

Any colour you like!
My fiefdoms are in the colour of my Minas-Tirith army, red and white.

Medieval and early Renaissance Scots did use long, 'hand and a half' swords, not unlike those used by GW Clansmen of Lamendon. So a sword in the place of the white tree with 7 stars and crown around it could look good. Personally I would stick with the blue background for the shield though- its a very Scottish colour! :boromir

Why do you actually want your Clansmen to look Scottish?

We are beginning to stray a bit off topic. The Clansmen have been decided. How about Pelagir or Ringlo Vale?

For Ringló Vale and Pelargir there isn't any colour given by Tolkien.
You can choose for your own.

Ringló Vale send 300 troops with their lord to Minas Tirith, the rest defended their homes and the shores against the Corsairs of Umbar.
The Ringló is a river if I'm right, so if you look at heraldry you could use a river and a mountain. I'd say white and blue-ish colours.

Pelargir on the other hand is more important in the histories of Middle-Earth,
the main harbor from Gondor and a large city.
(large enough to harbour around the 50 big corsair ships)
Heraldry could be a boat and the colours dark green en dark blue.

Hello again :)

Here's those links I mentioned, one on Heraldry and one on Colours

http://wiki.lindefirion.net/Heraldry

http://wiki.lindefirion.net/GondorFlags

I've also got some similar designs to those blackhawk posted but they're nothing fancy.

Not cannon but this could help give you a few ideas for colours etc
http://www.the3rdage.net/item-136?cpage=1

Also I believe a pelagir army was shown in the War of the ring rulebook also not cannon. But featured men of minas tirith in red and silver with a white diagonal stripe across the shield
