Got a little bit more done, but that's it for today since I've got some extra revision to do for a test tomorrow.. I hope the bricks will turn out okay being quite a bit smaller than the trial. I was thinking of doing 5mm bricks (thickness), think that'll work?

The inside is going to consist of 2 floors, the first floor and an attic. Some of the roof will be intact as well, but most of it will be debris. Also going to have a ivory beige inside to represent wallpaper, I shall have a thin coat of plaster which I shall leave to dry before applying the paint. Don't worry about any of the seams or ruff edges (e.g. on the chimney) as it'll all be covered with the DAS clay.

Looks great! I love the detail in the window panels. Will you be putting in glass?

Update:

Here's an update on the café. I got the bricks done & it took a fair amount of time applying the plaster, cleaning any pieces overlapping the windows/doors and adding the bricks. My next step is to add window shutters which will be partially intact..Tell me what you guys think anyway!

Some great looking terrain, I really love the painted brickwork with the tank shell damage. 8)
But how are you going to dye the camouflage net.
I suppose you use miliput for the bricks, is it easy to work with?

oh, If you want to melt some polystyrene away you mighty also want to use a soldering iron and hot needles as you can work a lot more precise with them.
I use a needle that is kept in place by a wooden peg, just heat it in the fire to cut very small parts, and you can get a good soldering iron with different temperatures for about 15-20 euros.
And how's your airbrushwork coming along?

Good luck with all the exams.

Wow thats really realistic! Howd you do the shell damage? I dont think I could put this much effort into a terrain piece.

@Sticky: Just ripped a few bricks off and used the knife to carve in a little bit. Added some wear marks around the hole & that was it.

Update:

Got the basic bricks done. .. that was painstakingly painted brick by brick but I think it's paid off, what you think?

Got to say that's not going to be fun doing that on the side of the house which is pretty much all bricks.. .

All of your stuff looks really great Drum! I really love the realistic detail of the terrain. Are you planning to play with the Bolt Action rules once they are released, or is this work for a different game?

Cheers mate. I'm actually thinking of making this part of a diagram or something, it might work well. At the moment I'm playing with the old rules 'Rules of Engagement', but I don't feel like spending more for a new rule book (especially since I've just got a grasp of the RoE book).

Thanks for all the support guys! Shall try and get some more done soon.
