With what argument did the Council of Gondor reject Arvedui's claim for the crown of Gondor?

Pelendur cheif of the council of Gondor contended that the crown belonged to the heirs of Meneldil, son of Anárion, since Isildur had relinquished the realm of Gondor.
Earnil was crowned because he was of the royal house and because of his victories.......phew :)

What "T" was a Hobbit of Stoor-kind who lived on the banks of the Anduin in the later Third Age?

He hasn't logged on in 3 days so he's probably busy at the moment.

As far as I know he is indeed very busy, so let's just be patient.

Funny you should start to comment on the day i have a chance to come back. Meneldil and Red Corsairs are right I have been very busy, I have some brief respite for the moment so i thought'd i'd log on for a short time today, although I am still quite busy with stuff so I may not be able to confirm a correct answer either, there's a good chance I won't be back on until next weekend (so be patient Mr Draugluin!)

Anway; "What did Sauron consider the loss of the Pelennor to be for him?"

The loss of his most powerful servant and the loss of a huge number, though small % of his troops? I'm really not sure what you want for an answer.

The loss of his great Captain, the unexpected defeat of his first assault and a growing doubt of his power.

I would give this one to Draugluin since your closest to my wording 'he considers it a tactical defeat for despite his losses he only commited a small portion of his forces, and his only real loss was the loss of his spear of terror (the W-K)'

So Draugluin, your turn.

A simple one, who/what was Huan and what prophecies were made about him?

He was a great hound and was given to Celegorm by Oromë. He was allowed to speak three times in his life, and would be killed by the greatest wolf that ever lived.
