I'm stuck and at the stage of frustration and hatred. Mounted Glorfindel is a tough model. Layers of billowing clothes decrative elements. And of course I've got DMS's stuck in my head so I look at mine and wnat to just go put it on a train track and submit it as a Jackson Pollack.

@Islestaggerholm - Mtd Glorfindel is probably the toughest miniature I've ever painted, I had to strip my first attempt and right up until I stuck him on his base I also was stuck in the feeling of frustration, hatred and downright fury!!! Persevere my friend. Are you going with the traditional GW colours as I have or are you going for something different? If your sticking with the GW colours I think that is where the source of the frustration lies as they are really quite bland and uninspiring to paint.... push through it, you'll be glad you did when he's finished. 8)

here are some work in progress shots. I started over and got Glorfindel to a point I am happy, I'm pretty good with horses, so he will be coming along shortly. I think I am past my train track phase. Thanks for the support.

Well, it does not look like I will be able to finish this one. Family in town and now Halloween ( we hand out @ 150 pcs of candy ) leaves me with no time.

Here is a what I have so far, the only thing done is the cloak. I will post the finished work in my WIP

This challenge is extended to Nov. 3 I believe due to a late start. You might have time.

AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!! That was crazy!! I just spent about three hours finishing my entry thinking the deadline was tonight, and was really worried I wouldn't get the pictures up in time, and then I looked at the deadline and saw it is a few days later. I was about to start pulling my hair out because I wasn't able to get to photobucket for a long time. I'm just glad I finished though. So here it is, Gil-galad.

I hope you guys like him as much as I do, I had an incredible time with this one. I think this is one of my best painted mini's so far. Good luck to every one else, I love what I've seen so far.

PoW that is an awesome job! I'm having trouble finding my free hand design in this one, yours looks amazing, well done. Besides the design on your cape I also like the highlighting, makes me want to go back and redo mine.

Finished my Glorfindel--pictures to come once his base dries. I must say he is a minature that once completed gives me a true sense of accomplishment. I feel like I've been through a war and came out with only minor wounds. Goal is two votes . . . hope I carry the day.

Could've done more or better, but I'm satisfied none the less. Faoled at applying a free hand design on the cape after a few attemps, decided to leave it simple.

Anyway a lot of good ones out there, so far MMS and PoW stands out the most for me.
