lol me too, I did have a metal Gulavhar but he met with an unfortunate end and I ended up with a finecast ( the 1st of which was covered in bubbles and GW exchanged it)

I'd rather fix bubbles on a finecast model troll than spend hours on end trying to pin the bloody thing. For smaller models I prefer metals but for larger models, anything but metal would satisfy me.

Try the superglue+greenstuff method, my September contest heavy metal dragon has held together fine without pinning. Even the wings.

That doesn't always work, Ares, I used that on Gulavhar and two trolls (A chieftain and normal one), Gulavhar and the ordinary Mordor troll easily fell apart, on multiple occasions. You need to use pinning for some models.

Isn't that risky tho as it dries hard on impact so if you push it together in slightly the wrong position......problems?

Kev I have two of the metal Mounted Boromirs, as I wanted one with the banner and one without. I will gladly trade one for your finecast provided the rest of the mini is ok?

Funny thing is that if GW were to suddenly turn back to metal, wishful thinking, they'll pull the Coca-Cola stint and call it Classic.

Yeh and they'd double the price of their remaining finecast stock and call them rare lol

Im not famillar with this coke stint, pls explain.

but i get the idea, they would try and make it look as good as possible, while where all like ahaha finecast was the biggest fail, all that promotion and excitment at the store and now its back to the old metal. I mean did they do any research? any surveys to decide if finecast was a good idea.

In the late 80s Coke changed their formula. Everyone hated it and sales dropped considerable. So they brought back the old formula and Called it "Coke Classic" and called the new formula "Coke II" of course they dropped Coke II a couple of years later.

Probably a stupid question but is finecast just on the models that are marked finecast on the GW website? I wasn't going to buy much atm but I'm still missing a couple of characters (like the Mouth of Sauron) and I'm thinking maybe I should go and buy them while they are still available in the original metal version.

Is the plan to eventually convert all the metals into finecast then? Sorry for all the questions, I don't go in GW much anymore and don't keep up to date with all the latest news either.

I'll probably try to pick up what I'm missing in metal while I still can if thats the case.

Yes that is the intention. To drop metal altogether.
