Thanks, I started working on Lannister troops last night and then had a blob of green stuff left so couldn't resist making a start on Jaime in King's Guard armour =-)
How'd you go with your Lannister soldiers pdog? Would love to see pics!
I'm absolutely obsessed with anything related to a Song of Ice and Fire atm with series 2 of Game of Thrones due out in the next cpl of weeks and having just finished the 2nd book. I'm also very intereseted in developing house rules as i'd love to play out some of the battles from the book using the SBG rules. I think a Song of Ice and Fire would be perfect for the warband system as there are just so many heroes!
I'm going to pick up a cpl of the 28mm Dark Sword Miniatures (probably John Snow & GreatJon Umber) and am hoping that they're good quality and fit in ok with my LOTR minis in terms of scale and general style. I'll upload pics and WIP details when I get my hands on them!
Also planning to heavily proxy Lotr troops (& converting as required) for general soldiers and perhaps some Lotr heroes with some characters from a Song of Ice and Fire. If I'm happy with the Dark Sword Miniatures I'll keep picking up more heroes from them to build up my collection.
I think rangers of Gondor would be perfect for the Night's watch, warriors of Rohan could be used for Winterfell troops, dead marsh spectres for the 'Others/white walkers', Minas Tirith citadel guards for the gold cloaks/city watch, Wildmen/Dunlendings for various wildlings, high elves for Dornish soldiers, Knights of Dol Amroth for the kingsguard and lothlorien for other northern soldiers. IMO warriors of Minas Tirith could be used as versatile armoured troops for a lot of the houses but just painted up with different colour schemes.
Anybody got any other ideas? Any feedback would be much appreciated
