Ok, I dont have the rules yet, but im absorbing everything from these forums like a sponge, or Kirby (yeah the cute pink thing).
Anyway, I got an idea for a scenario(s) that I will make in the future....

The Adventures of Bill the Pony!!!!

Bill got smarter than other ponys when he was in Rivendell. (I suppose the elf ponys were nice to him and made good tutor)

So, when the fellowship abandoned poor old Bill when they entered Moria, Bill had to escape from:
1) the Watcher in the Water
2) wild wolves and wargs
3) goblin scouting parties
4) evil flocks of birds (Hitchcocks' The Birds!)
5) human spies for Mordor in Bree

Its about time Bill's story of courage and inspiration became known!!!! *dramatic music*

Anyways, thats what Id like to make into a scenario someday. Oh and the burning of the Entwives Gardens... cause I love plants. Although thats sad cause plants get burned.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

Only it can't be a single scenario, that is totally worthy of an entire mini campaign, 5-6 scenarios detailing his journey back to Bree.

lol, thanks for the enthusiasm! And you are right, it has to be a campaign of epic proportions.

I started rereading some parts of the trilogy to find out more on Bill, and I rediscovered that Bill, was named after his former owner who was a Morder or Isengard spy in Bree. And that Bill the Pony later kicked that spy in the face when Sam was reunited with him. Go Bill the Pony!!! :puppy:

Soooo.. that proves Bill has some fighting skill right there.

Absolutely.

And Bill Ferny was eventually driven out of Bree and became a bandit and a ruffian in the wilderness for a while before Sauruman gathered all the ruffians to him, so a scenario where Bill manages to lure a pack of wild wargs or trolls or something straight to a ruffians camp and so drive the bandits away from Bree is also doable.

There is a long history of stories about what the animal companions of a hero do while the hero is busy with the main story.

Very well scenario thought it seems a little 'akward' him alone to escaped so many dangers... Maybe if dwarves aid it against the goblins and the rangers against the wargs and the evil men? It would be nice to see so many warriors coming to the rescue of Bill... 8)

OMG, awesome ideas guiz!

ForgottenLore, I like the idea that Bill is so smart that he can lure monsters to attack the ruffians! OOooohhh... how about if Bill overhears some ruffians who are planning to attack Bree? Sam did say he thought Bill was so smart he can almost speak. And the elfy horsies can understand elf language like Arwens horse (Glorfindels horse in the book). So Bill has to lure trolls or wargs to attack the ruffians b4 they can destroy Bree. Dang, Bill sure is getting smarter and smarter. What if Bill, actually saved Bree, Rivendell, and the Shire and no one even knows it?

Hilbert, dwarves are wandering around all the time, so I think you are right. But also, theres elves who wander around too (Gildor, i think) ... and also dunedain rangers patrol the wilds. Im sure Bill survived with the help of these unknown strangers who help Bill on his way.

Im so excited now for Bill! :yay:

I agree as we;ll. That sounds like a great scenario, I've always wondered about all the thing Bill did on his return, it would be interesting for Bill to actually do something for a change. Good job 8)

Well i would say do about 4-5 scenarios, similar to the protect the ringbearer ideas but with Bill the Pony in the middle of it.

Something like having Moria Goblins try to attack Bill while a band of wandering Rangers keep the arrows off him.

Just thought of a stupid idea that I really really like...

You remember that time when Sam and Frodo were in Emyn Muil and they climbed down and thought "too bad our elven rope has to stay behind now". Then all of a sudden, the rope "untied" itself and fell down to the hobbits.
Well, who untied it? :time:
Bill the Pony did it, of course!

Remember when the fellowship came to Lorien and the elves knew they were coming, well who told them? It was Bill!

No one saw Bill at the siege of Minas Tirith, but he was there strategically loosing field mice that terrified the mumakils. And yup, it was Bill who called the Eagles at the Last battle.

Bill the Pony was the secret hero of the War of the Ring. When no one was looking he was running around delivering messages, doing good deeds, and battling evil all over the place. I think no one saw him cause he was wearing an elven cloak, which Elrond gave him in a secret meeting after the Council of Elrond. Elrond was gonna send an army of elves to help the fellowship, but Bill said he could handle it.

Sorry Im just being silly now... :dizzy:

You are silly :D the rope untied itself because it's alive. The mumakil cna't see mice and the eagles called themselves.

Exactly, that is the standard animal companion type story.

And he may have an attack so he can actually fight.

Shadowfax not to be used as stand alone character, if Bill ists to be used on his own he need s to have the chance to fiht ebven if he can't strike blows, without an attack he'd auto loose every fight.

Methinks a pony would want to avoid every fight in the first point, hence having allies and slower enemies. If a legendary Mearas of Rohan couldn't win a fight by itself (or fight according to the rules), why should a untrained pony from the calm lands around the Shire be able to beyond making these scenarios more interesting? That's my take on Bill having an attack. Mind you, it would be amuzing to give Bill a really weakened form of the Mumakil's Trample rule that works against other non-cavalry models.
