Hi there. I live in Gent now for 4 months as an exchange student. I find the Outpost gameclub, where I could play LOTR with fans. In this topic I will show my battlereports to you.

Today I played with "Lex". He teached me how to play SBG. Once a few years ago I learnt the rules, but I never tried this gaming system, cause the WOTR is more popular in Hungary.
Anyway, I played two game with Lex. It was a 600 points game.
I brought mordor: Black Guards with captain, lot of morannon and mordor orc, a troll and 6 wargs.

Lex brought a lot of dwarves, rangers, Saruman, and some captain.

:orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc:||| :aragorn: :aragorn: :aragorn: :saruman :gimli: :gimli: :gimli:

This is the club. Today all the game tables at the upstairs was full with card gamers, so we played on a simple desk with terrian. It was fine.

Image

In the first game we didnt use to many terrian, just some rock, hill, a house and forest.

I totally screwed up my first game. I used my soldiers like in the WOTR, I didn' mixed them. The dwarves with rangeg support killed them very easily. After a 7-8 turn I had to gave up. I throw usually 1,2 and 3 :?
Lex protected Saruman very well with his soldiers.

In the next game we brought down a lot of scennery elements, hills, houses, etc. It looked much better. I put up my army first like in the first battle. I had two small warg teams at the edges, a massive team with Black guards and troll, another massive formation and a small archer team. Lex seperated his army into two formations. In this game I wasnt so stupid like before, I put the Black guards to the front line, and I added support speared orc behind them.

Lex used Saruman's magic power very well, he didnt let my troll to do to much hit. The battle took a long time, but after a while Lex's right line began to die. He had to took the courage test, he lost some soldiers then too. When the right side of Lex's army is vanished, and most of Saruman's bodyguards slained too, he gave up the battle.

Yeah, my first succes in SBG. :D

Here we are again, today I played againts Dylan. When I first saw his army, I could't belive to my eyes. A whole village of hobbits. Amazing. With nice details, converts, this is one of the most individual army I ever seen.
So, I brought the same army like last time. Dylan has several types of hobbits, dundedians and Gandalf the grey.

:orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc:
:pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :gandalf: :aragorn: :aragorn: :aragorn: :aragorn: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin: :pippin:

Dylan put his army in one huge group. I separated 2 main team, a smaller one, a bow team, and the wargs. My infantry was going straight ahead, and the wargs were attack from the left side.

Dylan had many archers. He had a great lucky in the shoot phases, his army killed so many black guards, I didnt really liked that casulty. So, at last my teams arrived. The warg's entrance were fenomenal. They worked so good, ate dozens of hobbits. The other part of the good team always moved back a little to pospone the fight. They shotted so many of mine. I was resolute, I was ready to attack these little clowns with all of my orc hate, when another disaster happened. Jesus..., I mean Gandalf used his Jedi push force at the perfect moment. As you can see below, 10 of my orcs he hit, 2 of them died. I couldnt belive this.

Image

After that more and more orcs arrived, Dylan worked to hold up my wargs with his hobbits and Gandalf. My dogs still were very lucky.
After a few battles noone could stop my troll. My wargs and the captain of the black guards surrounded Gandalf, gave him a lot of hit. He used all of his fates, and everything what he had. I think he is also happy now, cause he could walking on that beautiful fields at last, what he was talking about. Dylan gave up the war at this point.

Of course countless other thing happened during this game, I wont write down every might points and heroic actions. That so many hobbit and their bows was very scary, I nearly lost half of my army. Gandalf worked very well. For the next time I will learn the heroic actions, becase those are very important.
We didnt follow any mission, we just played almost 3 hours. I'm sure that the folk of the shire will strike back soon, they are very effective little guys.

Nice battle reports. It sounds like your getting into the swing of things for sbg, and learning quickly. You've only played three games and you already have two wins, and only one loss.

Awesome battle report. Good pictures and good painting. Although I suggest you buy some sort of grassmatt as the table looks a bit unnatural (although you should leave the beer there)

This is the Outpost's terrians, not mine. I liked this table, of course the battlemat is better. Next time Im going to fight on the frozen north. :orc:

Lome:
Legions
Of
Middle
Earth
iIt's a book for Sbg that tells you all the armies of Middle earth(Not their stats but it has their points cost) and how can they ally between them... (It's a MUST in tournaments...) For example in lome it says you can use Hobbits alogn Dunedain in the same army...
If you want you may buy it 8)

Yes, his army is The Shire...
If you didn't had the troll your army would be a legal army of Barad-dur 8)

Tripel Karmeliet... Leffe... Stella... A sure victory over the Ice-Tea! :D (Duvel however would be lord of the battlefield... :P )

Looks like you're having a great time there Bastion!
Did you bring all your armies with you from Hungary to Gent? Or are you able to play with armies of the store there?
I've never been to that store actually... If you hadn't told about it, I'd never know there was a store again in Gent... heh.

Maybe I should take a day off some time soon and come over to Gent for a battle or two. I don't know the rules though... Only played like two small LOTR-battles so far on a convention... 1 of them at the release of the Two Towers box set, and the other with the Mines of Moria box... so it's been years meanwhile...

btw, don't hesitate to make some publicity of our great community ;-)
