That is a very cool scene you have going there!! I love how you used the weapon hand to look as if he is holding onto the Huron! Well done! :)

Agreed. It looks amazing so far. A lot more "dynamic" than I have always pictured the Hurons, but then we never really get much official detail so have at it!

Change of direction...I initially started on my Balrog, but I am really having difficulty with the flame effect. I can't get it right, even with Brian's fantastic article. So, I'm switching to my Mordor Trolls. New proof pic is forthcoming!

would be even better if the troll was a metal one.

That doesn't mean that that piece of wok which must have taken ages is not amazing.

Don't think like that...you never know how people will vote.

I agree with Bilbo. Don't worry about the votes - it's not important. Mostly, I use the painting challenges as a motivation to get minis painted (I have a big backlog). I have also found that I try new things during these challenges, like NMM (which I would probably never have tried for ages) and learn heaps from what others do - and this really improves my painting.

So the biggest wins you get are better painting skills and more minis painted - and lots of constructive advice from the members of the community. This is completely unrelated to how many votes you get.

Keep going!

^Agreed! Painting challenges usually brings out the best in your abilities and only improve upon it. Plus it does make for a good excuse to get a certain model out of the way. My Boromir was primed and haven't been touched for 3+ years, my aragorn 5, my Lurtz 3, Balrog 2 years. I would never have touched these models if it wasn't for the call.

Some fantastic work there guys - this challenge is shaping up to be a ripper!

Here's a couple of WIP shots of my eagle mounted on the base. The top of one wing is close to finished but the other one is only base coated.

Ah but the longer you spend on your Eowyn, the better she will be. Also, you could multitask.

I believe he just used the spare parts from the plastic troll set, it's just the spare armour, head, and arms, no body! A great way to get more out of the troll set I think. :)

Also, as the others said, don't get discouraged from not getting votes, and remember some people vote on how you've improved, not on the best paint job, so you could still get some votes.

Oh, and Alan, that is looking like a real eagle's wing. No, really. That is just stunning.

Lol Multi-tasking is not something I'm good at.....Plenty of time for my monster still.
