I went for your idea dagorlad, because i liked it alot. If you have any questions about what you can or can't do PM me or just ask here, i want to keep that thread just for the rp.

Also, is it too much for ask for the RP thread to be stickied?

Just letting you guys know that I've decided to give this a shot. I plan on using some old RPG dice that I have laying around to actually roll as to whether I succeed or fail at what I am doing. It's all going to be done on the fly, but I have a general idea of my characters strengths/weaknesses, so it shouldn't be too hard to come up with what would be needed for a successful roll, and of course 1s are always blunders!

I like the idea Erunion, by the way nice character Gothmog, i was hoping someone would be evil, i was going to throw in an NPC which would betray all of you, but i see you have that covered

(That is unless you have a change of heart/die)

Yes, I felt there needed to be little more evil n there, so decided to step in, I'm unlikely to have a change of heart, but that doesn't mean it won't happen, as for getting killed, well, you have to take whatever fate has instore for you.

Is there something I'm not understanding about this entire RPG thing? I thought the goal was to write a story together while each of us contribute a character or two, but what's the point with dice rolls? That's just something you're planning to do for yourself Erunion?

Yup, he just plans on randomizing his character's actions, i personally would be far too tempted to make sure my character never failed at anything if i weren't restricted by a dice roll or something, so it's a nice way of implementing realism.

Exactly. It is all too easy to make your character over-the-top because, naturally, you become invested in them and want to see them succeed. This will help me to mitigate that factor, plus it can really add to the narrative with an unexpected critical success or blunder.

Edit -- I did a quick sketch of my character. I may re-draw it and do in color...
