Are you sure that isn't a photo from the movie...the realism presented here is so so so incredible!

Nice Lurtz Sacrilege! The leather looks really nice, and the armor is nice too, but what really stands out is the white hand on his face. It just looks perfect :yay:

Thanks guys for the props.

@Draked you have no idea how long I've been staring at stills & pausing and rewinding the Aragorn/Lurtz fight scene just to make sense of things! Overall I'm satisfied with him. There are a lot of great entries here to contend with so they've pushed me to my limit as far as I can go with this one.

Right on the money that Sacrilege! You can tell a lot of thought and work has gone into it - look forward to seeing more.

Yeah, the grittiness (is that a word?) of your Lurtz is awesome Sacrilege. How did you get that weathered look?

Well, I am glad I managed to finish him in time - it's been a while since I painted any LOTr figures and I have really enjoyed this challenge. Looking forward to the next one too - if I have enough time (just got really busy at work).

Here's my Lurtz:

Damn good job Dagorlad! It's amazing to see all these nicely painted Lurtz, most looking the same but all having their own perks & style kind of.

@Edge67 weathered look is tons of washing, drybrushing, washing, drybrushing, etc., etc. until I was satisfied. Only for the painting challenge... I feel as though I kind of botched up a bit on Lurtz's quiver bag though, Dagorlad's bag was the result that I was looking for.

What did you do for the skin colors? I really like the way you (and a couple others) grabbed the shades as they appear in the film without the serious dark-flesh color of GW's standard pallet. Isengard was my first SBG army many years ago and I haven't revisited them since. I am planning on building it up to WotR size and redoing most of my existing force now that I've progressed a bit and would like to achieve closer to your results.
