I should really get to work on mine, took a couple of days break from painting but haven't started again yet. But I am determined to finally get an entry done for a challenge, so I'll just have to give myself a kick up the backside and get on with it.

^probably. But imo its not really uruk-hai style to shoot someone down. They want some fresh man-flesh!!

LOL actually I was re-creating the Amon-Hen scene and Lurtz wounded Boromir once before getting slaughtered by Boromir and Merry and Pippin :-)

Progress. White turned pink in this photo, hopefully I get the final pictures right. No white hand on the face, but a war paint. And that's not number 9 on the shield but the runic S Saruman's forces were seen to use.

Ok, I've decided to enter this challenge with a uruk captain, having none of the other options. I've converted him from a shield-less captain
527
To a captain with a shield
528
I got the shield from another Uruk-hai and I thought you might want to see him
529
530
Notice the blood coming off his helmet :-D I might try to do something like this on the captain before I start painting. :)

Nice work everybody!

@Ares B - the rune is a nice addition, good job with the white hand and warpaint too.

@Sir Richard - nice conversion. Simple but effective.

@Legolas31 - very original conversion with Lurtz there, good job. Can I ask is that a Haradrim head with the elvish and gondorian heads? It might just be my eyes, but it looks like one to me. If it is, shouldn't it be replaced with a Rohirrim head?

What's wrong with pink? Doesn't it seem a suitable colour for Uruk-hai? :-D

I've just had a great idea: for our Special Painting Challenges, how about a pink theme? :-D

A 'Colour Challenge' has already been suggested and is on the list. It's basically the same thing, only it could be any colour that is chosen for the challenge.

The Hippies of Middle-Earth Challenge, or perhaps Bored of the Rings Conversions? :flower:

Fair enough. Nice idea with the collected heads by the way, makes him look much more intimidating.

10 days...hm. Perhaps I shall enter with my Uruk Captain...by during so I would be assuming that Command Unit loses the poll which I'm sure it will. I think.
