First off, this looks really really good. On to the mechanics. I agree that the stakes might make it easier to climb up. The first thing I thought of when I saw them was that they should maybe be a bit smaller and that there should be more of them. Maybe add about ten more smaller ones to each side? That way they are more of a barrier, as right now they are more hand-holds than in the way. :)

This is great Drum 8) Have you see The Eagle by any chance? It seems strangely similar to the one in that, especially the gate. I think I may make a Dunland version of this.
Keep up the fantastic work. Can it be used for LotR as well?

EDIT: For the tiled roof, check out how to make wargames terrain book because they talk about it in there. It basically involves cutting up strips of corrugated cardboard and overlapping them and it looks pretty neat.

@Avenger: Right yeah I see your point, it's historically acurate but your right I think I need to shove in a few more. I've kinda haulted on this project at the moment because I hit a problem with the painting.

@Cyndra: Yes I have mate, which is why I built and started collecting the Roman models lol. This would suit Rohan quite well, and I've already had a small game on it with my Rohan v Isengard. Good idea about the book man! Will check it out, I kinda forget about it sometimes.

Sorry guys, I had these finished way back and have never really had time to update my thread. Since I'm right into my exams I don't have much time. I have finished my Roman legionaire and have just finished basing them. They were all painted up last week, just didn't have the chance as I said. I haven't bothered with being fancy with the skin, was just speed painting. I'm quite happy with them, and I'm swaying if I should buy a few more packs... What you guys think? There has also been some progress on the fort, but very slowly. Comments welcome :)

They look good, what scale are they? And if you don't mind me asking, what system do you use for them?

Ps: Good luck with your exams, I've finished all mine :P (But mine aren't important)

Look good, although I still think you should just give the skin a light wash.

Very nice legionnaires. Just beware of any vandals painting slogans on the fort during the night. If they are literate you might get 'Romani ite domum'. Or of it is someone called Brian from the PFJ, you could get 'Romanes eunt domus'.

Awesome fort drum. Nice roman dudes as well. I have been thinking about getting some Romans. Are they from warlord games? Also should I get a set? I only ask cause I'm in Australia. Sorry to ask all this.

Well to get back to this project I've experimented a little with some paint. I've got the colors and used a light gray on the walls along with a wash of brown, then later black and finally with a dry brush of brown near the bottom. I've tried to get a difference between the mound & the wall but it's very difficult to see in these pictures I'm afraid. I suppose I could engrave the wood in again more so it stands out but you'll be lucky if I can be bothered  Tell me what ya'll think!

EDIT: Just released after posting this I forgot to put the pictures in - big help that is!
