Guys,

I've had a look at the dropbox files. There's a few spelling and grammar problems :) Maybe I could proofread all the material for this book. It would make my contribution very easy to do instead of trying to add more hobby content.

@ Elros proofreading is more then welcome. If you see an error please change it. 8)
Just make sure you correct the right editons, as there are also the orignial not proofread one in dropbox.

@ marsbar I like the idea (and it gives us an excuse for another conversion article).

I'll make an extra thread for artwork.

@ marsbar: You can post it in this thread and for larger things (articles, pictures, etc) we have the dropbox folder.
Dropbox is a free program, you can download it here.
Barukhazad is the dropbox moderator so if you pm him with your email adress he'll send you a dropbox invitation.
It might be faster if you send me a pm as Barukhazad is quite busy atm, so I'll e-mail him with your adress.

Garmenhord has agreed to make a few sketches when he has the time and I have asked several members if we could use pictures from their gallerys.

I've started with making a picture. will show a wip soon

ok howabout this for a statline:

70 points
Dwarf ranger captain
F S D A W C M/W/F
5/3+ 4 5 2 2 5 2/2/1
Wargear:
Dwarf ranger captains are equipped with a hand axe, two handed axe, dwarf longbow, and throwing axes. They may have the following.
Crossbow...5pts
Fine ammunition...5pts

Fine ammunition: If this upgrade is purchased, when rolling to wound using any ranged weapon, the dwarf ranger captain gains a +1 bonus on the roll to wound
Special rules:
Mountain dwellers
Khazad ai menu: When a dwarf ranger captain is charged by an enemy model, he may throw an axe at his opponent or shoot with a bow during their move phase as they charge towards the captain(if he shoots a charging enemy with a bow he may not use a 2 handed axe in any ensuing combats). If the enemy model survives it may continue its charge as normal. Additionally the captain may spend a point of might/will to allow all friendly models within 6" to behave in the the same manner when charged during that turn, provided they are equipped with axes/bows.

Well if lurtz/riders of rohan can have sheilds and bows, i don't see why a dwarf can't have a 2 handed axe and a bow, besides isn't the point of fan-made rules to bring something new to the game?

Yes! Finally in to lotr again (got into 40k and found myself bussy with my new chapter during my spare time)! If that dropbox icon wouldn't have showed me that recently uploaded doc., I would have been lost forever!
So, I'll try to pick up my work again!
(I'll also try to use that dwarf ranger captain somewhere.)

Please tell me about any changes etc. I should know.

Welcome back Ragbur.
At the moment Barukhazad hasn't got the time to create scenarios, so it would be great if you could make the scenarios for campaign 2 (dwarf/orc wars).
Once they have been made I can start on the maps.

@ marsbar: I don't play but it looks like a nice profile, but a bit overpowered and how is he going to cary around all that equipment?
Maybe drop the amunition rule, decrease some values and let him choose between a 1 or two handed axe at the begining of the scenario and put him back to 60(ish) points?

Garmenhord has made some quick sketches which can be found in the dropbox folder.
For those who do not yet have dropbox I'll post them here.

(I changed this one to black and white just to see how it would look)

I won't be able to do much more in this holiday as a lot needs to be done around the house, tests are comming up and I want to catch up with latin as soon as possible.
( I'm now at the end of my 4th year of atheneum, just started with latin so with that I'm three years behind the rest(they start in the second year), but that won't be a problem.)

I've always preferred black/white sketches... They look more like codex artwork...

@ ultragreek: Thanks, we really need playtesters, if you send me a pm with your e mail adress, I'll make sure you get a dropbox invitation. (dropbox is our file storage program, you can download it here)
It could take a couple of days before barukhazad reads the email and invites you for dropbox, so I'll send you the scenarios by email.

@ marsbar: do you also want an invitation for dropbox, if so pm me with your e-mail adress.

@ raggbur : Yes I also like the black white/ greyish one more but it's good to know what other people think and it's up to garmenhord as well of course.
Are you going to make the scenarios for campaign 2?

@ aqan
Yes, of course, what you start you finish, but I'm just a little confused about the maps of campaign 2, they're wonderful, but not realle the ones of the scenarios I made, so...

@ ragbur: ignore those maps, they were maps for some ideas barukhazad had and are not the for the campaign.
ps I believe you work in word 2007 or 2010, could you save all your files as a word 2003 document because otherwise I can't open them on my own computer.

Ultragreek: for as far as I know he isn't banned (nor can I think of any reason why he should have been banned), he has a very busy live atm So he isn't very active atm.
but maybe I missed something.
