I'd drop the Hobbits and take larger formations. I'd also ally in a cheap Epic Hero, as At the Double and another few points of Might would be useful.

Not really. Enemy archers will need 5+ to wound, where as against Dwarves with shields they'll need 6 and then either 4+ or 5+. Besides, Dwarves don't need shielding.

so my 600 point army
balin
2c dwarfs with shields
2c dwarfs with two handed weapens
+hornblower
2 dwarven ballistas
2c of dwarf archers
allies
3c hobbit militia
2c hobbit militia archers
cirdan of the havens

i dont think this will do amazingly well and im extremly unlucky in my club with my ballista!!! (im becoming famous for losing them in a round or to). i think cirdan is a good acompenment to balin as his magic will work in favour of balin doing some mashing in combat and then he can keep his own unit pretty safe with his vision thingy (saves models on a 6) and his replenish spell.
i did put him in the dwarf archers but found that i was using them more as a flanking unit so i have put him in the 2 handed weapen formation.
post your army up and wether or not youll be managing to come!!!!??? :-D

I'm not coming, unfortunately. We didn't feel we had enough players who play WotR. If I going, however, I'd probably take something like this army:

Faramir - 90pts
Warriors of Minas Tirith, four companies - 100pts
Warriors of Minas Tirith, four companies - 100pts
Warriors of Minas Tirith, four companies - 100pts
Archers of Minas Tirith, three companies - 90pts
Knights of Minas Tirith, shields, four companies - 120pts

shame your not coming, barely any teams are, i think games workshop were too sudden in the change another year of sbg so people could build there armies for wotr would have been ideal. i mean the point in it is its for school children and they dont tend to get much money!!!
