In the LOME expansion p4 under "select your leader." It reads:

Regardless of who your leader is, he or she can be given any of the options presented in the army list. etc.

I've never read this before although I've played alot. Does this mean If I choose say Galadriel as the Army Leader of a Lothlorien Army, I can give her an Elven Blade, Heavy armour, throwing Daggers, Shield etc. because they are all options in the list?

Or can I only give ther the options listed under her profile?

My guess would be only what goes alongside her in her description.

Remember you can take her as "herself" as per regular rulebook, or as "War aspect" as per Fall of the Necromancer.

I can't see her getting tooled up with heavy armour etc etc...

I've been told that it means that the hero can only use equipment listed alongside his description in that army list. For example Legolas cannot take armour in the mirkwood army list so if you take him from that list you can't give him armour.

No, you can only choose your own equipment options. It's also in the FAQ on the GW site.
