No, because Lothlorien can't ally with the Dead.

All of the units in any given allied force, must be LoME complaint. The Fellowship, even tho' it can ally w/ Lothlorien and the AotD, does not knit those two forces together. Rather, the elves and the undead are so repulsed by one another that they refuse to fight a common enemy

Hi there

Whilst this would be unusual and not really in the “spirit” of the army lists, as neither is allying with the other rather with a third party, then this should be possible

I hope that this proves to be of help to you.

If three forces are in the same list, then all three are allied together. If you're using LoME, then no, you can't do it.

Nope sorry, all of the allied factions have to be able to ally to each other, otherwise you could ally basically any army to any army. What you were trying to do is called chain allying and is not allowed. 8)
Edit, my reply assumues your playing according to Lome.

Gw says it can. but It is not good manner.

First. Choose the army list and leader (in LOME 4p)

second. fellow leader's army ally list

although they didn't in each ally list. you can use it together.

fellow only first chosen army's ally list.

plz see the list in LOME

ex) the fiefdom and Rivendell

Rivendell's ally list has the fiefdom
the fiefdom's ally list doesn't have rivendell

but Rivendell can use fiefdom as ally.

The Rivendell/Fiefdoms issue was dealt with in the LOME FAQ. If Rivendell can ally with the Fiefdoms, then the reverse applies.

As theavenger001 said, chain-allying is not allowed. If you are putting forces in the same army list to fight together on the table, they are allies, period. And if any two can't ally according to LOME, then they can't be together in the same list.

So, here's another hypothetical....

Could I have a Rivendell Army that is made up completely of rank and file w/ no heros and then use a hero like Boromir who can ally with Rivendell to lead the army?

No, you need a hero from the ally to lead the ally.

boromir would be the "hero" from the "ally." Do you mean that you need a Hero from both the ally and the main army?

Yes, every contingent needs a hero from that contingent to lead it. Your Rivendell army must be led by a Rivendell hero. As for Boromir, I think he can only ally with Rivendell via the Fellowship list, which means only the Boromir of Gondor profile can be used.

There is no MAIN list. Every list is a contingent. Every list needs to be able to ally with every other for the alliance to be legal. Every list needs to follow the same rules, ie. have a hero and a bow limit in itself.

the Legion rules seem to contradict themselves on this points. I know that the 1st step is to chose a hero and then base your army around a list that contains said hero. Perhaps my memory does not serve me properly, but I thought that it said, further down on that page, that you could have an army made up of entirely warriors if you elect to not choose a hero.

[edit]Sorry, just forget I said it. This is me betraying all my ignorance.[/edit]

No, it doesn't say anything like that. And on page 8 the alliance rules are very clear.
