Hi all, so.. I'm going to buy some dwarven stuff.. but.. what should I buy?

- Ballista
- Khazad Guard
- Iron Guard

I allready have 3 Iron Guard and maybe some more after a trade, so, what's best of the Khazad Guard and Ballista? or should I buy bouth? I'm planning on 2 blisters if I buy the Guards.

All 3 of the things you mentionned are good choices in both games though haha

I've got 1 ballistae, 8 Khazads and only 3 Iron guards myself.

I've been contemplating the idea of using Greenstuff to make a Mask on the Ranger models that have their throwing axes at the ready. It would make Iron Guards with capes~

Cheaper too and less heavy! Won't have paint chipping off from gaming use.

Khazad guard models I quite like though, I wish they had plastics.. and the ballistae also can be made from plasticard and greenstuff, from this nice article:

I think either option would be good. Whichever you choose should depend on how you want play. To make the descision a little easier:

Khazad Guard:
-Bodyguard special rule (definitely useful for terrifying enemies).
-4 Strength (with Bodyguard makes then excellent against cave trolls).
-Hard to kill with their 7 defence.

Ballista:
-Can make light work of monsters.
-Will force your enemy to change the way he plays, which may open up other tactical opportunities (this is really the best thing about siege weapons).
-Adds some variety to your gaming experience.

If you have no other siege weapons at the moment for other races I would choose the ballista. However, the Khazad guard are definitely more practical.

maybe I'll could use something to represent the ballista in a quick game and see how it works (same for the Khazad guards).
