Where do I start?
Erm, somewhere in the region of 4000 SBG/WotR minis (to rise yet again soon)
And several hundred compatible minis from Ebob and other sources (that count is also going up..)
I have about 700 Ultramarines, hundreds of Orks, Eldar, Tyranids, Necrons.. and loads of tanks, bikes, trukks...
There are also about 500 plus 1980's - early '90's vintage GW and other fantasy minis - it may be more than that but I am not digging them out of the 'Vault'
And an awful lot of 1:300 scale modern tanks and armoured vehicles, planes and helicopters (let's put it this way - I have multiple battalions and regiments...)
Some Flames of War - mostly German Tigers, assorted heroes and, of course, Rommel...

That's all I can think of right now..

This is embarrassing....

Am I right in thinking you've painted about 100 of them?

Ah, more than that, plus several hundred primed and several score WIP's.
But that still leaves thousands untouched yet.

Something to look forward to in my old age, I suppose....

I used to have zillions it seems like, or I'd say probably close to 1000 at one point. :)
Now, I'm going to have to say in the 400-500 range only because I have sold and traded alot away.

approx. 100 Old West minis
16 Star Trek ships
6 40K minis
3 Warhammer
10 Quar minis
rest would be LotR 300-350 or so (guessing)

Around 400 LotR minis painted and maybe a bit more unpainted, but I'm not going to delve into the deepest pits of my hobby stuff closet now. Looks like I'm never going to get the number of painted minis bigger than my backlog. In addition to them something like 100 random minis from board games like Space Hulk, HeroQuest and Descent.

I've been in the hobby for about eight years, so that means roughly 50 painted miniatures per year, and about one per week. If we assume two hours per mini, it's 800 hours spent painting, which is about 30 full days, or one full month. So, I have spent about 1/100 of my time painting miniature figures during the past years, or 1/30 of the time I'm not sleeping or working.

I am only going to guess, because the time I spend counting I could spend painting. :D Besides, if I really know, I will get discouraged at the number of unpainted ones I have.

well i have A MILLION!!!

just kidding. i have around 500, with roughly 150 painted to a standard i am pleased with.

also, has anyone seen the guy in WD300 called Artur Syndler? he has at least 10,000 points of every army for every system GW have ever produced. apparently most of them are painted and GW fills 20-25% of his games collections!! he painted an entire space marines chapter (1118 models) in 20 days!! OMG

Hmm, maybe post again with different brackets?

I have over 500 miniatures for LotR alone, never mind Blood Bowl, Space Hulk, old Warhammer armies and even a a 40k army, plus 'miscellaneous'.

500+ is the largest pick by far, it would be interesting to see that broken down further.

Hmm, the gravitational field of the earth is distorted in the vicinity of my workshop due to the presence of an extraordinarily high concentration of heavy metal.

My Lord of the Rings figures alone sit at around 800 models, but then I have a load of WWII minis, WH40K (Orks and IG), Zulu Wars, Victorian Sci-fi, Warmachine and Hordes, teddy bears (pirates and cowbears), Malifaux, toy town soldiers, frogs, zombies, and a scattering of ancient Greeks, cowboys and Napoleonics. And about half a dozen 28mm scale dinosaurs.

And then I just went and ordered another 30 British Airborne minis, plus a tank.

Lots...

Mostly metal, too.

Uhm, probably about 120 Mithril miniatures Orcs, most painted, but with about 40 unpainted.

Another 200 or so Games Workshop Orcs.

Probably another 100 Elves of various sorts. Maybe more.

About 40 Mithril "hero" characters. A bunch of Mithril diorama pieces. And some random other guys too.

40 metal dwarves; 40 some odd Rangers of the North; a dozen Haradrim; 40 odd Easterlings.

etc
etc
etc

The coming year will be all about finishing armies, finishing painting, deciding what is really important for me to own. I need to create an Orcish army of Angmar (50 models or so) and paint my Minas Morgul force. Create a small Eotheod warband and some sort of Arthedain force. So I suspect there'll be another 200 miniatures bought before the end.

I can't be bother counting all of them so I will count my elves only. So I have:

48- wood elves (some are metal im buying another 24 soon)

30- Galadrhim (some are metal)

27- high elves (some are metal)

21- heros

Soo thats 126 elves. If I counted everything I think I would have about 500+ because i know i have about 150+ orcs about 60 dwarfs ummm lots of rohan, gondor and uruk-kai (even though i dont collect them). So yeah...

Do you have pictures of these anywhere in the web? It would be great to see some different LotR models than the usual Citadel ones, and Mithril minis are quite rarely seen these days.

LOTR SBG hasn't but there have been several LOTR miniature games before which in some way's are better, as they were based soley on the books with no made-up stuff :)
