So, I've spent most of this hobby doing non-Lord of the Rings painting. And, wanted to show a bit of it to you guys. I'm far from the best painter, but I do take some pride in my work, and so here's two older models that I did. The first, a Rackham Confrontation model, was my first experiment with blendings, in...oh, probably December of '06.

This second one is a miniature I picked up around Christmas time last year. I spent a good amount of time on her, but haven't gotten back around to working on her. I got her just to paint, and don't want to rush it, and I've been working so much on stuff with my 40k league, and now with trying to get at least 500 points of Mordor painted before June 13, time is a premium. Still, very pleased with how she's turning out. I deliberately used a limited palette, taking purple as my primary color for the piece, and just using shades of it for almost everything. The piece is Monique De Noir, a 54mm Reaper miniature.

I really like how the purple armor turned out. It has very deep color and bright edges. looks awesome!

Trying these painting logs again...here's a picture of my most recent project- a Veteran Sister Superior from my Witch Hunters army, in my new color scheme.

In all honesty, I couldn't give you a really good description of what I did, it was about three years ago...I started with Scab Red, blended Red Gore, and then blended Blood Red into the mix. A very long and involved process. You can see a similar thing with the 54mm model in how I did the purple. I don't do it that often because of the time involved with it, but I will admit, it comes out amazing.
