Ahem, yes, Celts had their own interpretation of 'Go Commando'. Nice to see 2 large painted armies and a great battle field.

I like these plastic Romans and Celts from Warlord - they do some nice deals too!

But I will keep to LotR myself.

That's what I thought, 2000pts barely fits on the table. Very nice Dave are they foundry? I've wanted the wargames foundry plastic Celts for some time.

Nice armies Dave. It's nice to see so many painted minis on the table.

Yeah, 2000pts is max on a 6x4 table, but to be fair, tactically formation do need to be at least 2 companies deep depending on opposition.

No Foundry stuff there, the bulk is Warlord Games and Black Tree (who I will never order off again, orders take months, if at all, to arrive. Very cheap and excellent quality, but thats no good if you don't actaully have them!) I've also bought some 1st Corp models - £16 for 10 metal cavalry including command! and nice models too. They are the Numidians and elephant.

I couldn't bare to look at the dress pics. Sorry to hear your toger's made of lead. Maybe a doctor could help?

Yeah Dave a 6x4 table leave no room for flanking maneuvers. You'll need at least 8x4 thought 10x4 would be ideal. After years of hard work and I mean like 6, I've got my mate to consider not painting each mini to golden daemon level so he can play with fully painted armies. PS that hasn't actually happened yet but I think it might sometime this year.

I don't want to necromance this thread, but I just have to...
I ordered my own set of legionaries, and the question about the size, they are 28 mm just like the lotr miniatures.

Great job on yours Hithero, They look fantastic.
When I have some legionaries I'll make a picture next to a plastic and a metal lotr miniature, so you can compare sizes.

Hithero I saw that you painted a general as Vespaspian, so I presume you know the books from Simon Scarrow. Perhaps you noticed it, but there a miniatures from Macro and Cato.

Nice work Hithero. They look fantastic on the wargames table. Hopefully this will encourage a few more to try out historical gaming albeit using LotR rules.

Warlord have an excellent range of both Romans and Celts. I have several boxes of each at various stages of painting. I have based mine on pennies though, so I won't have the joy of WotR as they don't fit into movement trays properly. That said, I could always blu-tack them onto GW bases so that they do or make my own.
