Unfortunately the Inspiring rule is found in the WoTR rulebook, not the SBG rulebook.

will the new profiles be only for WoTR or for SBG too

I forsee the SBG being dropped. The guy at my local GW says that there won't be any "Low-tar" (do they ALL call it this?! ) SBG stuff for at least a year. I figure they'll see how much more money they make forcing people to buy hundreds of models and drop the SBG altogether. A shame, really.

A damn shame seeing as its the reason anyone is interested in WOTR at all...
Surely they wont get rid alltogether that would be madness, I mean im going to play WOTR without doubt but having the original skirmish rules is what makes LOTR stand out from the many many other games out there.... Lets start a petition aimed at GW lol

Please don't restart the conspiracy theories again...

GW is not going to drop the SBG. How/why could they, with WoTR out? You need the same models. What, they wouldn't be able to spare the space to stock a few rulebooks, supplements, and MoM boxes?

The SBG is also a nice selling point for casual gamers and those of us with low income- WoTR, WHFB, and 40k generally require a good amount of economic investment. People are more willing to commit to the SBG- where you can get a 500 point force for around 60-90$ (US), or a smaller, yet still very fun and playable force, for even less. A decent sized force in the other games, which almost requires a large number of models, can run you well over 150 bucks. My 1,000 point Lizardmen army costs about that, 85% plastics.

Even if they don't release stuff soon (Don't depend on a rumor from a GW employee, ever), they're not going to drop it. My guess? They will release new things still, but just less frequently because of WoTR. And if they do stop releases, who cares? It's not horribly imbalanced or anything. The rules work, and you have them. You can still play it, and as long as it's a GW game, you can play it there.

WoTR is like Apocalypse for 40k. It gets an insane amount of hype at the beginning, which will die down to just casual games or events every now and then.

Fair enough. Sorry for crying wolf, I was just going by what I heard. Hopefully War of the Ring won't replace the SBG as the LotR standard format.

I really don't think it will, but who knows? They are a business, so perhaps they will flock to WoTR as their main format simply because it makes money. We'll just have to wait and see.

All I'm saying is that it doesn't look like they'll be dropping it, or at least not in the near future, and just don't go off of rumors. I heard rumors before WoTR came out that it wasn't ever going to happen. And here it is.

But if you are right, and they drop it, then that's just one more dumb move to chalk up for them.

The worrying thing about this statement is just how many dumb moves they've made over the years.

However, I didn't use the right word when I said "drop" I meant more that the SBG would drop down to a specialist game in favour of WotR. Apparently the GT this year will be played as WotR. SBG is essentially to WotR what Mordheim is to WFB, right?

Mauhur is a Uruk Captain in the Two Towers book (Tolkien’s actual book). He was leader of a force sent to meet up with Ugluk and aid them in returning to Isengard. However, Ugluk’s Scouts were destroyed before they arrived. He is not in the SBG right now but he probably will be added in later when they make a model for him.

Ok… and a statement like this (in a topic about Ugluk no doubt) means what exactly?

Yes yes, it's off topic and yes yes, I know you don't like me Angrok. The conversation in the topic turned to where to find SBG rules of all the new WotR stuff, then I posted my bit of doomsaying based on what I heard.

in SBG does ugluk only have to kill one ally in base contact to pass the courage test and not d6

you can take either options. you may choose to kill a model instead of facing the odds of taking the test.

powerful I think, and could mean the difference between winning and losing.

Yup, you'd be surprised at how many C4 tests I've failed.
