Hey folks,

after realising how bad I am at batchpainting haradrim I decided this evening to build a "fotostation" to be able to make good scenic pictures. I am far away from having it finished but posted as step-by-step guide on my blog here.

Hope you like it and maybe there'll be someone who is inspired to build his own!

Best wishes
SOF

Hi again,

apart from the second part of the fotostation article I've finished one of my two dwarf captains today. Unfortunately I uploaded the pictures too big for the forum so I am just able to show a link again, I'm sorry for that. Next time I'll make them smaller.

http://bennetts-miniatures.blogspot.de/2014/02/zwergenhautpmann-dwarf-captain.html

It is still not finished as I've seen several mistakes here and there (especially on the helmet). Comments and Criticism are nevertheless very welcome!

Best wishes

The new one looks glorious - very satisfying to see your painting skill develop. Now paint a batch like that :)

Thank you very much! But I'll probably not paint a batch of dwarves in the closer future, I do only need a few finished before a turnament.

Hi, without much words here is a picture of my started conversion for a mounted Mahud chieftain. The words will follow don't worry... ;-)
I'd just like to hear your opinion and suggestions for the position of his right arm. I want to give him a spear but all the ideas I've had so far are very boring... Thank you in advance!

The model istself is surely not finished at all!

Much more pictures and one of another project are on my blog! (See my signature...)

How about something similar to a knight jousting, you can angle it down to show him about to run some poor chap through.

Nice dwarf. Dark tones suit them best.

Thank you very much! In the end I did something similar to what Gandlaf said, just a simple "lance pose".

When you want to read a lot more text and see a lot more pictures and maybe wonder why there is the foot mahud on the picture... check out my blog!

Very nice. The banner construction is the best bit for me. I cannot fault it at all. Flawless. The camel's front leg is pretty good but the back one to me looks a little wide on the thigh from the side. Not ridiculously so though. The rider's arm is realistically done. Arguably a little beefy, but that may have been your intention to have him quite muscular?
On the whole a very nice conversion to bring some much needed leadership to the Mahud tribes! 8)

I'm delighted you took my idea, I think it looks the perfect pose.
I agree with what Dave has said about the leg, a little taken off will make the difference. When compared to the metal leg you can see how thin the legs are by comparison.
I like the muscular arm, it will look fantastic when painted up.

Hi guys,

thank you so much for your nice comments! (A comment from Dave, goal accomplished... )

I definitely agree with the back leg, it's way too big in comparision to the original one. Problem is that I had to sculpt it in two parts, next time I know what I have to look for before priming...

I have actualy started painting him but failed that much that I don't want to go on... :o I think I'll concentrate more on sculpting than on painting, I have already some plans but have to wait for my armatures...

Best wishes

That looks a great sculpt. They don't have too many lardy lads so I find this a very nice alternative.

Nice sculpt :) Cool to see it done from scratch.

Great sculpt, overall from scratch. I think you could make him a bit fatter, though. He wouldn't mind.
I'm even more fond of the second project. EXCELLENT ! ! ! 8) 8)
